www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2637343Plenty of this around So 54 years since I went to Trafalgar Road, I shall rock up on Sunday in the hope of actually seeing some play although looking at the forecast may be unlucky wisden.com/matches/players/104547/lancashire-v-worcestershire-at-southport-county-championshipRodney Cass was the first County player at a Championship match that I aw score 50 plus, over the years saw Geoff Cook Northants score his first ever 50. Attended the Sunday League game against Glamorgan, saw the 470 partnership between Humpage and Kallicharan Also there when Diana got married to jug ears in truth wasn't alone most of the male population of Lancashire was there that day. Got to know where ex Liverpool players Ronnie Whelan and Alan Hanson live, love the ground can also train spot what more does a bloke want(Don't answer that) Given the way things are going with the game suspect visits to this great little ground will be limited, shame really proper cricket ground although doing away with the deckchairs on the section were they now have the public announcement van was a heinous crime. Any news will be plonked on here as and when it arrives

Used to love going to Southport as a kid. I remember one summer, can't remember how old I was but I still had my strika bike, we as a family biked it all the way from Rainford to Southport. This was in the early 80's. My mam and dad moved there for a couple of years after selling our house before they followed me over here to Vermont. Lovely town.

www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/gctc5tc5s#?date=2023-06-10Looks good for tomorrow though rain tonight in the area was incredible so no idea how soon that can be drained. Would be good to see Admin. I’m going anyway I missed the wedding day in 1981 as was working in Isle of Man and did a tough hilly 17 miles in tremendous heat. Sorry if if I’ve bored you with this before but my dad’s opening batting partner bears out Admin’s story about every man in north west being there. He said to me “ greater love hath no man than your dad sharing his stretch of wall with me that day.” Simon Hughes is quite amusing talking about the day in his book “ A lot of hard Yakka”.

Won the toss and bowling. Croft, Parky and Morley not playing.

Isn't southport one that really turns especially as the game goes on. Morley got a few last year so why pick Bladderwick over Parky. Outfield looks parched so two spinners surely.
Not sure about Salt opening but he did it for Sussex I guess.
Will we hear why Croft is out?
Always struggle to guess what Vilas and Chapple will come up with

No Parky again, it feels like the first real challenge of his Lancashire career.

White 0 overs, Patel 2 overs Keedy, Kerrigan 2 overs each in the 2nd innings, after being tried with little effect in the first innings after the seam attack had reduced Notts to 27/5 at the start.
As Kevan James said the two sides have read this differently (Hampshire have included 3 spinners) and we will find out who is right. Hampshire would have batted.
Wood completely rested from the squad, who like Parkinson has not played championship cricket since game 1.
And even on the Lancs "Blog" no mention of Croft. Or on twitter, I suspect the social media team are equally in the dark. That being the Lancashire way.

Last year Morley took 7 wickets here and we're playing no slow bowler at all? (Hartley this season 3 wickets at 70.3 - strike rate 144)

Initial thoughts, there seems to be a hell of a lot of tinkering going on here.
Bohannon shifted from his normal position where he’s been going well; suppose that’s because Salt is WK, but then Vilas or Bell could have kept.
No Croft, but he’s not scored many CC runs as yet this year.
Bailey listed at 7, with Jones two places below. Jones will be lower than Blatherwick next!
Williams at 8 and Hartley at 10? I imagine the batting order will be “flexible”.
Anyway, a couple of early wickets and slow start by the visitors. But how many times have we had the opposition 80 for 5 and then seen them get away?

I suspect whoever wrote that batting order that you are looking at just replaced names of those playing in the team against what they had previously assumed. Top three will be Salt, Balderson, Bohannon, following by Vilas, Mitchell, Jones, Bell in any order then Hartley, Bailey, Williams, Blatherwick
