Sadly, not to be - plays himself in and then chips tamely to short midwicket. Vilas a bit unlucky with one that spat out of the rough but he did leave a very big gate. Building a healthy lead but it's not been obvious this morning that Hampshire got the pitch wrong. Organ has conceded a few but looks dangerous and 4 of the 5 wickets have fallen to spin.

Chapple probably believes in the absence of Jennigns, Vilas must place to captain the side. Probably better than giving the captaincy back to Livingstone. Crofty could of captained quits happily. Would be a bit of a slap in the face for Vilas though surely. Feels like with all our selections lately, Lancs are trying to keep everyone happy with some game time. |
