Have my long awaited hernia operation tomorrow ( had it for two years) so wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Christmas. Let’s hope for some good cricket in 2024.
It’s been great to see plenty of new posters this year as well as the veterans. Sadly we seem to have lost Werneth who was always worth reading and was a lovely man in person too. He was last on in April 22.
Thanks to Admin and thanks to everyone for forum contributions which give me a lot of pleasure.
Cheers Des

Good luck with the op Des. I'm sure it will go well and you'll be back on your feet in no time at all.
I'd echo your thanks to Admin and fellow contributors, it's great to have a place to hear news and exchange views with fellow Lancashire supporters.
And if as seems likely Werneth has passed that is a sad loss. Fellow Oldhamer, he was an erudite man and good company. Rest in peace Vernon.

Happy Xmas to everyone and I hope everyone has a healthy and prosperous New Year.
And hopefully Lancs give us something to cheer about once the warmer months get here.

Cheers Des Yep all the best to everyone, been some excellent posts this year and the guests list have hit an all time high, only just over 100 days until it starts again. Did actually check when Werneth last posted and you think hope they are alright but as we are not the youngest on this forum you tend to realise they have have been finally bowled out. It comes to us all, remember we are all only immortal for a limited time, so make the most of it

and seasonal greetings from me....attached an update from Andy Anson in particular on the hundread - counties in discussion with the ECB. Lancs supports an expansion in the number of hundread teams but not in the playing time...will be a members forum in January....

To all the lads (and lasses) on here, have a great Christmas and (the most important thing) good health for 2024.
Des, I hope all goes well for you.
When you read some of the nonsense spouted on other so called 'social media' forums it is a pleasure to be able to come on here, give valid views and then receive a respected response.
I'm currently on holiday with my Mrs in Cape Town, we're here mainly for the Newlands test against India. Perfect weather, a damn good pint of craft ale at £2.50, a glass of wine for the same price and tickets behind the bowlers arm in the Presidents Pavilion Stand for less than £7 each, we both love cricket and coming here is a million miles away from the greed of the ECB...cheers everyone

Andy Anson ...if he said it was Christmas Day tomorrow I'd check my diary, then check again.
