I was listening to a Sky podcast the other day. Athers was asking Swann about his career and he came out with something that I didn't know. He said that when he left Northants in 2005 he had a choice between Notts and Lancashire, he chose Notts because of Mike Newell (although he did mention that Murali was with Lancs at the time!).
