Seen the score on BBC website: 343 for 1. Are we candidates for relegation? Certainly are, a truly dire day add to the abysmal effort in the field against Yorkshire, the woeful collapse against Essex and this pile of poop suggests to me that all is not well behind the scenes, we seem to be going down without a whimper totally dispiriting. Likely to lose Mennie as well for a week if he has concussion. But not too worry Dale Steyn in town next week against or ever so dependable batting. Likely to be chasing 550 to win. Where do you leave the blame though the club seems to have lost it's soul non cricket men in charge behind the scenes only seem to be interested in money, only have to look at the web site it's all about the Vitality slog fest personal view hope we have the monsoon season when it's on. Is it only us that cannot fly an overseas player in for a couple of matches, Faulkner's available play against Hampshire or rock up at Westhoughton for the 2nd teams 2 20/20 games. Utterly abysmal but don't worry you can buy Vitality Blast tickets for £5 whoopie do

Totally agree with the previous post....Lancs CCC being ruined by the "money men" in suits. Don't they realise they won't sell as many Twenty20 "slogfest" tickets if the First XI are becoming a laughing stock on the county circuit?
It is difficult to see a solution unless the MEMBERS can get together and somehow get rid of (vote off?) Gidney, Allott and their awful cronies.
Lancashire CCC = a rudderless ship heading for the rocks.

Chasing 601 get to lunch with only two down in with a chance 333 needed on the last day. Closing 268/4 merely shows what a calamitous decision it was to send in a night watchman with around 8 overs to go on the first day. That decision, and the decision to continue to play out of form players (who needed a night watchman) brought this defeat on. However, I suspect a reasonable effort to be made tomorrow in an attempt at papering over the cracks. Say losing by 100 will bring on the usual post defeat lines. Was interesting to listen to Joe Leach, who if not injured, would have been Worcestershire's captain, saying that decision told the bowling team Lancs were only interested in playing out the day, and allowing Worcester the luxury of attacking. He couldn't believe the decision. Whatever happened to the concept of doing what the opposition would not want? When the management believe in conservative cricket, that's what happens. Worcester only got 247 by attacking after lunch on day 1. Whilst, I suspect Lancs were content to sit back and expect to pick up wickets.

The toss thing is odd this time of year bat first, putting opposition is dodgy but then again they were 82-5 so could have been correct but as you say losing five wickets late on Wednesday cause of likely defeat

Once the inevitable kicks in the wickets tend to go faster
