A win is a must in this one against a Worcestershire side which will lack three pace bowlers, Leech and Tongue long term injuries and Morris pulled a hamstring in yesterday's narrow defeat to Kent in the RLC. Their pace attack is likely to be Pennington, Brown and Barnard. Batting wise they are decent on paper, with Ferguson the Australian being in good form in the RLC. England prospect Clarke is a danger as well. No Livingstone or Parkinson who have the joys of playing in a meaningless tri series against the West Indies A and India A, so no captain and no spinner from the Essex defeat. Will Chapple be bold and play the likes of Hurt, Lester and Jones doubt it Croft for Livingstone and Parry for Parkie just to prove we really are predictable. Tempted to go on Thursday.

I cannot see how you can knock Chapple if he picks Parry – we will have lost two spinners and it surely stands to reason that we should balance the team with one. Hurt or Lester would hardly be a suitable replacement for Parkinson. But I'd go along with you in hoping that Jones and not Croft will get into the side.

Fair points Werneth, possibly could have put it better in the fact that there is little coming through from the second team to put pressure on the first XI

Has to be Jones ahead of Croft with Parry the spin option (as neither LL or MP are available).
Also, do not allow Chapple to have any input concerning the toss. Who can forget 2011 at Worcester when Chapple batted first after winning the toss and we lost by 10 wickets in less than two days, being bowled out for 161 & 80.
Put them in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chapple and Chilton need replacing. The repeated acts of self-destruction are embarrassing.
