A day in paradise

Had a wonderful day yesterday at the beautiful Netherfield ground in Kendal. There was a decent crowd but plenty of seats and I met some great people, all hungry for real cricket away from the influence of the ECB thugs. I did it by public transport on a Sunday so it is certainly reachable today or tomorrow. If you can get there, I would go. There aren’t enough days like this in a lifetime.

Unfortunately, my photos , which aren’t very good but do show the beauty of the ground are too big to load.

I note the name of Edwin Moulton, who featured unsuccessfully for us in the short 2020 season. Will Fraine of course was playing first class cricket for Yorkshire a couple of seasons back.

Correct ; I was never impressed by Ed M when I saw him with our seconds. I’ve a feeling I saw him for Cheshire as well though could be wrong on that. Ben Walkden bowled much the better spell of the two opening bowlers.

Yes, I’ve seen Fraine playing for both Yorks firsts and seconds.

Played on both upper and lower grounds one was a night game which I played after breaking glasses could see not a lot
