Emilio Gay has declined a new contract at Northants. Durham & Warwickshire rumoured to be interested. If we're not interested, we should be. He's a good young player who's already scored two centuries against us. We offered Rob Jones a contract and haven't replaced him so there should be money in the budget.

I agree he would be a good option for us, his availability would be good I can't see him getting into the England setup or playing much franchise cricket but still a descent batsmen.

Agree he would have been good for us but I can’t imagine why anybody would want to join our rabble at the moment.

I've also seen it rumoured from a good source that both Gay and Will Rhodes are Durham bound.

He opens I think, and our top 3 are about the only area of the club that is quite decent at the moment!

If he is happy to bat in the middle order no problem. What we need is a solid county signing, rather than someone who will be picked up by franchises limiting their availability in all tournaments.
