Let's hope this friendly last longer than the previous second team game at the same venue which was abandoned due to a dodgy track, those not involved at Leeds will be playing here

Rob Jones once again proving he is far too good for second team cricket: out for 153 off 87 balls this morning
only 11 listed in the squad despite the website claiming a 12 player squad as per normal for 2nd XI cricket (11 to bat and field) Hameed might still be involved.
Clealry not risking injury for Lester, Clark, Watt, Faulkner, Parkinson, Khan and Lilley before the weekend, not involved in either match.

Wonder whether the lack of recruitment of batsmen is faith in the academy: Lavelle, Fluck, Crawley and Perry all scoring runs for the seconds recently.

In respects of batsman think it is the correct way to go, piece in the Telegraph yesterday Alec Stewart wants six or seven local players in his squad. They play them in their teens our promising youngsters are mid 20's although that may be changing. As for Mahmood this may be his only cricket of the summer |
