cricket.lancashirecricket.co.uk/news/2019-news/14-named-for-vitality-blast-opener/So Liam Hurt goes straight back into a first team squad without playing any games for the seconds. He must be vital to our plans. Danny Lamb has had "a number of impressive performances for the second XI". He bowled yesterday for the first time, and two half centuries in half a dozen games with the bat. Who writes this stuff? Looks like we are down to the bare bones, surprised Onions and Hameed aren't involved.

Squad for tonight: Dane Vilas (c), Josh Bohannon, Steven Croft, Alex Davies, James Faulkner, Richard Gleeson, Liam Hurt, Keaton Jennings, Rob Jones, Danny Lamb, Toby Lester, Glenn Maxwell, Matt Parkinson, Stephen Parry. Not surprisingly Hurt is left out (due to lack of cricket). Otherwise usual conservative selection of the final 11 from Chapple. No way do two from Hurt, Lester and Gleeson need to play.
If the rain stops Vilas will have to decide which of his nine bowlers to use. Faulkner, Maxwell, Parkinson and one of Lester/Gleeson (leave the other out) should account for 16 overs leaving the other four to be split between Bohannon/Lamb, Croft and Jennings. Two of those must be worth 2 overs.
Then play an extra batsman.

Lancashire Lightning head coach Glen Chapple has named an unchanged 14-man squad for tomorrow's Vitality Blast home opener against Durham.
There is no change on the injury front after Friday's game, with Liam Hurt & Danny Lamb once again included in the squad following respective knee and neck injuries.
James Anderson (calf), Tom Bailey (knee) and Saqib Mahmood (abdominal) are all back in training following their respective injuries in recent weeks. Anderson has been named in the England Test squad for their game against Ireland at Lord’s.
Liam Livingstone, who suffered a side strain in the Specsavers County Championship fixture against Durham at Sedbergh School, is set to miss the first part of the Vitality Blast. He continues his rehabilitation with the Club’s Medical Team at Emirates Old Trafford.
Dane Vilas (c), Josh Bohannon, Steven Croft, Alex Davies, James Faulkner, Richard Gleeson, Liam Hurt, Keaton Jennings, Rob Jones, Danny Lamb, Toby Lester, Glenn Maxwell, Matt Parkinson, Stephen Parry.

Durham 117 all out the closeness of these games is staggering, give me a 50 ov er game anytime The match featured a first-time trial of a hybrid wicket of part-grass, part-astro turf which will potentially feature in The Hundred next season.
Lancashire had no problems batting first and scoring quick runs. To such an extent that Vilas (171 to 128), Croft (151 to 123), Bohannon (130 to 104) and Davies (141 to 129) all scored at a faster strike rate than what their s/r is for Lancashire). Wonder what will happen when they play on a normal wicket, which may be less true? Durham might have done the same without scoreboard pressure.

Give it five years they will be them all on artificial wickets on football grounds
