Very one sided . Sense trouble at Mill at Wigan after their great start. However Wigan did bounce back to beat Newton Le Willows in Digman Cup today and will face Rainford in semi final , the holders comfortably seeing off Wallasey.

Looked as though it could have been very different at 100 ish for 7 although , given Wallasey’s recent batting form, I was always backing Rainford .

I see Rainford hit 190/8 declared, would you have fancied a win from that Des if a whole days play had been possible?

Much would have depended MickeyG on whether we got Ben Walkden out or not. Newton reckoned they had a weak side with lots of youngsters. We were backing ourselves to get through the top five and then possibly go through the rest easily. Newton were short of belief that they could win and only one team really wanted to get out after the rain. We were probably less frustrated , however than both Northern and Ormskirk who would have backed themselves to win at relatively weak Wirral sides.

Encouraging that two young players scored their first fifties in Prem League cricket .

Not looking good weather wise at either Rainford or Rainhill at present. So frustrating, yesterday would actually have been a pleasant day.

Looks like an awesome performance by Ormskirk unless Formby just wanted to get finished for the football. Pretty good by Rainford too. For second year on the run at Rainford, Matt McKiernan and Karl Brown both out for lowish scores , both played poor shots today.

Rainford play game in hand tomorrow away at Rainhill, weather permitting. Had it been played in April , Rainhill would not have had Godelman and Proctor playing ; hope they give as little trouble as Brown and McKiernan today.
