I’ll carry on posting this on the Forum that a few of us have transferred from as well as on here for a while. I will just do Liverpool Competition in the main but will keep a watch on Simon Kerrigan at Fulwood & Broughton. Saturday May 5th HIGHFIELD 184-7d (58.1 overs) (55 overs = 162-6) (Misal 78*, Gaskell 27, Jenks 21; Holden 3-30) v LYTHAM 129-5 (51) (McDonagh 47*, Cornall 41) Result: match drawn Toss: Lytham Points: Highfield (3 bat pts + 2 bowl pts), Lytham (1 bat pt + 3 bowl pts) No Toby Lester for Lytham . Taylor Cornall 41 off 117 balls ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3405093 LEIGH 246-5d (52) (Zelem 94, Bulcock 46*, Shallcross 44, Foster 25) v NEW BRIGHTON 124 (4Cool (Cooke 36, DR While 30; Bulcock 4-38, Shallcross 3-2Cool Result: Leigh won by 122 runs Toss: New Brighton Points: Leigh (20 pts + 5 bat pts), New Brighton (1 bat pt + 2 bowl pt) Former second eleven opener Ross Zelem 94 off 137 balls ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3404866 ORMSKIRK 157 (44.3) (Baybutt 39, Armstrong 35, Knight 25; Liptrot 6-61, B Tripathi 3-25) v BOOTLE 244-7d (54.4) (Kershaw 69, V Tripathi 45, Williams 31, Farrell 27, Purser 25*; Lees 3-57) Result: Bootle won by 87 runs Toss: Bootle Points: Ormkirk (2 bat pts + 3 bowl pts), Bootle (20 pts + 5 bat ) 21 for former second eleven opener Will Hale for Bootle. Low scores for Ormskirk’s big guns, Josh Bohannon and George Lavelle ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3404905 RAINFORD 148 (47) (Dotters 49, Snellgrove 36, Davies 28*; Sephton 6-56) v NORTHERN 180 (51.3) (Laker 46, Grey 33, Sephton 25; Davies 5-46) Result: Northern won by 32 runs Toss: Northern Points: Rainford (2 bat pts + 5 bowl pts), Northern (20 pts + 3 bat pts) Academy seam bowler Dan Houghton 10 overs 1 -21. Former academy player Dotters looked like he might bring Rainford an unlikely victory whilst Northern were using the stupid tactic of putting the field back and stopping trying to take wickets. It was no more successful for them than it is for Lancs. Eventually , however, Dotters holed out unnecessarily. RAINHILL 228- (55) (Fletcher 57, McGladdery 54, Rotheram 39, Atkinson 28; Jenkins 5-81, Holtby 3-67) v COLWYN BAY 165 (55.3) (Johansen 37, Jenkins 36, Gidlow 20, Littler 20; Atkinson 6-51) Result: Rainhill won by 63 runs Toss: Rainhill Points: Rainhill (20 pts + 5 bat pts), Colwyn Bay (3 bat pts + 4 bowl pts) ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3404923 WALLASEY 66 (40.5) (Sutton 51*, Parry 50; Wilcox 4-38, Keogh 3-44) v FORMBY 158 (52.4) (Eagles 15, Leckey 14*; Parry 4-5) Result: Formby won by 92 runs Toss: Formby Points: Wallasey (5 bowl pts), Formby (20 pts + 2 bat pts) Good day for Stephen Parry despite being only the sixth bowler used by Formby. He skittled the tail. Earlier, after Hameed and Brown had both gone for single figures he scored 50 off 62 balls. ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3404945

Cheers Des, technically Kerrigan is sort of playing in the same league as me but about seven divisions higher

Interesting Formby side is stuffed with talent. In addition to Brown, Hameed and Parry, Seward plays Cheshire and Oxford MCCU, Oldham plays Lancs 2s. Northern seem to have ex-Lancs 2s but probably no longer being considered: Grey and Laker both played a couple of seasons ago. And Leigh's Toby Bulcock played all Lancs age groups up to captain of the under 19s but never for the 2s. Tripathi ex-academy very early on ending playing first class at Northants.

Gidlow 23) v HIGHFIELD 204 (50.1) (Owais Shah 94, Misal 57, T Ashton 24; Holtby 3-28, Jenkins 3-58, Campion 3-79) Result: Colwyn Bay won by 83 runs Toss: Highfield Points: Colwyn Bay (20 pts + 5 bat pts), Highfield (4 bat pts + 1 bowl pt) LYTHAM 122 (50) (Cornall 30, Mulligan 19*, Holden 19; Vahaluwala 6-15, Sabbir Patel 3-44) v FORMBY 123-0 (28.3) (Porterfield 72*, Haseeb Hameed 48* [123*-1st wkt]) Result: Formby won by 10 wickets Toss: Lytham Points: Lytham (1 bat pt), Formby (20 pts + 5 bowl pts) As Silly Point remarks elsewhere, no Toby Lester in Lytham attack but more runs for HH. Both Lester and Taylor Cornall batted and were out cheaply. Cornall also bowled four overs for 21. ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3404874 ORMSKIRK 140 (48.2) (Armstrong 56, Robinson 27, A Rankin 25; Sephton 4-54) v NORTHERN 180-7d (57.2) (55 overs = 161-7) (Snow 48*, McCrae 45) Result: Northern won by 40 runs Toss: Northern Points: Ormskirk (2 bat pts + 3 bowl pts), Northern (20 pts + 3 bat pts) No Bohannon for Ormskirk for obvious reason. Lavelle out for 1 ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3404912 RAINFORD 190-9d (54.3) (Edgeworth 48, Snellgrove 34, Houghton 25*, Mistry 20; Seddon 5-3Cool v LEIGH 164 (48.5) (Batterley 68, Foster 45; Agarwol 5-28, Dotters 3-53) Result: Rainford won by 26 runs Toss: Leigh Points: Rainford (20 pts + 4 bat pts), Leigh (3 bat pts + 4 bowl pts) Ross Zelem not playing for Leigh at present ; broken finger. Without Matt McKiernan and Karl Brown they are struggling a bit but still a thrilling win for Rainford. Dan Houghton was the only seam bowler for Rainford and having looked ahead of the game, they looked behind when his second spell failed to add to his one wicket. Young leg spinner Agarwhol brought on I feel in desperation, got the anchor man opener with a full toss first ball and showed great temperament to take 5-28 on a stunningly beautiful evening on this lovely ground. He walked off stunned to be taking the applause. ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3404920 RAINHILL 125 (55,.4) (55 overs = ?) (Darekar 26, Fletcher 24; B Tripathi 7-47) v BOOTLE 94 (30.4) (Davies 29; Darekar 6-34, Atkinson 4-33) Result: Rainhill won by 31 runs Toss: Rainhill Points: Rainhill (20 pts), Bootle (5 bowl pts) Another single run score for Will Hale who is having a nightmare in league games at least for Bootle ( I don’t follow the limited overs much ) but am sure will come good. ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3404927

Bootle and ex Worcestershire bowler Chris Liptrot featured in The Cricket Paper last week for getting nine out ten wickets. He is making another attempt to get all ten today. Remarkable as Will Purser at the other end is a class act too ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3404872 Already seen off Stephen Croft, Taylor Cornall and Toby Lester. Lytham fighting back, however. _________________

No game for me today went to watch my first team at Tarleton all out for 90 and lost by 6 wickets however Tarleton 3rds were playing Kirkham 2nds on the other ground Kirkham declared on 318-2 with one opener hitting 218 which I think is a league recored before retiring the home side were 2-2 from 8 overs chasing or not chasing it down

Des Lukman Vahaluwala who took six wickets for Formby owns a cricket store in Preston bought a bat from him this week really decent bloke and a cracking sports shop. His 19 runs batting at number 9 was a good effort from 80. Toby Lester's 9 overs 1-39 not very impressive when the other opening bowler gets 5-21 ; don't know what Saunders does . May be a spinner given the stumping off him which may mean it was just spinner's conditions rather than Lester not using them well. Stephen Croft 41 not out ( 3 4s and 3 6s hardly an innings of significance in the context) . Taylor Cornall didn't get a bowl but shared in the massacre of New Brighton who are surely destined for the drop two years after being champions ( sounds familiar). NORTHERN 170- (53) (Snow 48, Jones 25*, Boardman 23; Darekar 5-68, Williams 3-57) v RAINHILL 157 (46.4) (McGladdery 46, Fletcher 32; Snow 5-30, Grey 3-43) Result: Northern won by 13 runs Toss: Northern Points: Northern (20 pts + 3 bat pts), Rainhill (2 bat pts + 4 bowl pts) ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3404903 Tyler McGladdery who made his debut for seconds this week 46 from 85 balls in a losing cause. No Lavelle or Bohannon ( latter obviously) for Ormskirk. Highfield can’t have been thrilled to see Gavin Griffiths making his first Ormskirk appearance of season. Extraordinary result really as pitch had enormously variable bounce particularly for the spinners and yet relatively high scores. Finlow Smith , a Lancs Cricket Board under 15 player who lives in Isle of Man had an innings to forget. Dropped off a sitter on nought then lbw Stephen Croft for one. Not impressed today by Taylor Cornall's 6-0-28-0 but looked a good player batting though beaten a couple of times outside off stump by Dan Houghton. He was Finlo Smith's one wicket in his 6-0-36-1 Stephen Croft's innings had four fours and three sixes off 73 balls but looking at the scoreboard, looked to be a losing cause at one stage but eighth and ninth wicket pairs got Lytham home despite decent figures from Dotters and Houghton. ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3405053
