Thanks for the info above Chris Good starts for new clubs for Tyler McGladdery and Taylor Cornall, both who have played for Lancashire 2nds though only one in a winning cause. Great result for promoted Orrell Des, Tyler McGladdery and Sam Oldham look as if they have moved on to playing for Derbyshire seconds:

Thanks Chris ; will still report on them as sometimes players go off and play a few elsewhere and then reappear; eg Liam Hurt. I think the easy movement between teams is regrettable as I think teams lose their identity and the games loses its integrity and usefulness as a form guide. However, I accept it has to happen. Indeed, the first team game has little integrity nowadays with overseas contracts of several weeks , players coming back halfway through a Test match etc

To my astonishment, three games in the Southport area , one in Division 1, one in Division 2, got some play yesterday ; two got forty odd overs before the inevitable. The Premier League game was shorter but also bowed to the inevitable. No real Lancs interest. ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3763179

I’m struggling here. Both Liverpool competition sites seem to be using a new scoring system and I can’t find the summarised scorecard that I have always posted except in the case of the matches which were on TCS during the game. It’s the story of life for this Victor Meldrew; once I get the hang of any IT system, it changes. Leigh v Formby www.totalcricketscorer.com/TCSLive/TCSScorecard.aspx?id=72616 Looks like a fine innings by Sam Oldham , who as noted recently, has been playing for Derbyshire recently.George Burrows also took three again Northern v Bootle www.totalcricketscorer.com/TCSLive/TCSScorecard.aspx?id=72648 Another puzzling one this. One version of the scorecard gives it as a friendly but can’t have been as the points are given on this version. I can promise you there will be nothing friendly at all about Northern v Bootle . My dictating app has just given it as Northern v Brutal ! Recent history between these two. Bootle will certainly have been thrilled by this victory against the champions. Will Hale scored just one but he will come good as every year. Taylor Cornall made what must have been a very good 80 given the figures of Will Purser for Bootle ; he is always class and must have been a handful. Dan Houghton took his first wicket for Northern in the competition. Lytham v Wallasey Toby Lester played as a bat only , scoring 10 . Ross Zelem 19 for Lytham. Can’t get a link to post. New Brighton v Colwyn Bay ; no county interest of which I’m aware. NEW BRIGHTON 144-3 (35) (Rowland 106*) v COLWYN BAY 143 (35) Result: New Brighton won by 7 wickets Toss: Colwyn Bay Points: New Brighton (20 pts + 5 bowl pts), Colwyn Bay (2 bat pts + 1 bowl pt) Rainhill v Ormskirk www.totalcricketscorer.com/TCSLive/TCSScorecard.aspx?id=72681 Lavelle playing as a batsmen only. Tyler McGladdery has also put in a couple of decent performances for Derbyshire Seconds recently.Tom Hartley three wickets for Ormskirk against a Rainhill side who, without an overseas superstar this year, look likely to struggle. Orrell v Southport & Birkdale ; cannot get any detailed score at all. No county interest of which I know. Excellent start to season for promoted Orrell . . . . . . . . . . . . W W D/L D/L pen . . Spent a couple of hours freezing at Rainford yesterday but then had to go. Only arrived for end of Wigan innings. Last time I saw this fixture two years ago, ex academy John Dotters bowled a beauty to dismiss ex Test player Aaron Redmond and gather he did the same yesterday. Missed an exciting finish but think I would have frozen by then. ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3765261

Saw both Jamie Crawley and Ben Gibbon play for Cheshire today. Both played for Lancs seconds last week. Fluck is injured. Crawley looked good in an apparently much depleted Cheshire team. Cheshire capitulated in both their T20s against Cumberland. Plenty of others in view who have played for Lancashire seconds in the past: for Cumberland: Adam Sydall played for Lancs seconds 20 (!) years ago in 1999 (still taking wickets at this level) Tyler McGladdery (now seems to be playing with Derby 2s) certainly has a safe pair of hands. Batted well in the second match, bowled a bit in both. Liam Grey (hasn't played for the seconds since 2015)
for Cheshire: Rick Moore (Lancs Academy 15 years ago, and Lancs seconds in 2006 Calum Turner (Lancs Academy a few years back and seconds recently) Furqan Shafiq (seconds a couple of years ago)

A division down,a cold days watching at Birkenhead Park, but worth it for a superb all round performance by former academy player John Dotters. I don’t think there are too many centuries and five fers in league cricket. He also made a brilliant slip catch ldcc.play-cricket.com/website/results/3765181

Unusually for a Saturday it was limited over cop action today which I don’t take much interest in. However here is the summary and link to the full scores for those games with county interest whether current or past. Highlights ; Bohannon, Lavelle and Hartley all having starring roles for Ormskirk ; a big defeat like that will hurt Bootle who had started league season well. Zelem and Hale’s struggles continue.
