The end of the Kolpak, at the end of 2021 counties will no longer by able to employ cricketers on Kolpak rules following GB exit from the EU they can only be employed as overseas players, last season for Vilas?
The club have not released details of his current extension. Last things I saw were to cover up to 2019 and then just a general interview towards the end of the season talking about "next year".
Other counties have signed kolpak players and those with EU passports on longer term deals.
Like most current hospitality or food industry workers there may well be a deal available to allow those currently under contract to stay. To paraphrase: a lot of water has to flow down Downing Street yet.

Peter Walker ex Glamorgan has died I don’t remember him playing, but I do remember him as the Presenter on the BBC Sunday League coverage. Full (40 over) game every Sunday throughout the season on BBC2. I know that John Arlott was one of the regular commentators but am trying to remember the other. Was it Jim Laker ?

Hadn't realised this before looking quickly at Wisden, but:
Anderson topped the bowling averages and Vilas topped the batting averages.
Wonder when was the last time two Lancashire players did that in the same season?
Furthermore Anderson had the lowest championship bowling average in history (with more than 16 wickets)

( It may have just been on BBC Wales which we could get). He gave a chance to David Hughes in the outfield. Hughes, a brilliant fielder, only ever dropped a catch once a decade but the sun came out and blinded him at just the wrong moment and it was a turning point. Yes Jim Laker was the other commentator for as long as I can remember. John Arlott always did the first 20 overs of each innings. I always suspect he detested the 40 over game and there was certainly evidence he went home as soon as he’d done his overs in the second innings.

I had read very recently about John Arlott leaving at the end of the first half of the last forty, though the book did not mention either Peter Walker or Jim Laker (at least not in that context).
My main, regular, memory of Lancs in the JPL was, in every game, Paul Allott bowling six overs for nothing at the start and then being taken off, coming back at the end and getting smashed around the ground for his last two. I could never understand why he didn’t bowl all eight straight off and keep the other side waiting another four overs before they went on the attack. Anyone could have bowled the two at the end equally cheaply, or rather, equally expensively.
