Guess this explains the Stanley signing, or the other way round.

Disappointing. I suppose you can understand them releasing a player who almost single handedly got us to the final of the T20 Blast while retaining players like Buttler and Livingstone that have made a huge contribution to Lancashire in recent years.

Buttler & Livingstone on central contracts, so don't cost us anything except when they play for us. Gleeson does cost us. I get the irony, though.

Yeah, I wasn't being entirely serious! You just know Ric Gleeson will go somewhere like Derbyshire, or back to Northamptonshire, and take 4 for not very many against us in the Blast.

You get two of the world's best T20 players, only pay them for T20 and you can use them on marketing all year round. Bet the club think that's a great deal.

Gone to Warwickshire

I always thought he'd get another gig and he's gone to one of the biggest counties. He was our best player in the 2022 competition. You never know what happens in contract negotiations but seems a shame we couldn't sort something out.

You never know what happens in contract negotiations but seems a shame we couldn't sort something out. It was previously announced that he had signed a two year for 2023 and 2024 so not sure what contract negotiations there would have been other than "the door's that way'.

4-0-18-1 on debut for Warwickshire yesterday, still one of the best bowlers in the competition, a mistake to let him go.

4-0-18-1 on debut for Warwickshire yesterday, still one of the best bowlers in the competition, a mistake to let him go. He actually played for them on Friday against Durham as well, 3-0-12-2. I totally agree we should have kept him would have added strength to our attack in the Blast. Released half way through a two year contract if I am correct.
