Not by the club that's nothing new.
He's going to London for a scan this week. If its a reoccurrence of the stress fracture which is the concern then obviously he's out for the season.
His career is blighted by injury. Wonder if he will reach his potential from this point.

His career is blighted by injury. Wonder if he will reach his potential from this point. The club have been self praising themselves about their medical back room staff for years, yet it has taken them how long to send him for a scan. Since he played a few games earlier in the year they have been managing his return to fitness, apparently. Or not as the case may be.

Yes I have been wondering about the medical staff. The length of time it took to get Jennings over a hamstring injury was worrying. Boyden and Gleeson have had stress fractures too in recent years. I'm not sure they are all that.

Don't understand why they would delay over a scan if there's a suspected stress fracture, penny pinching? I really hope it isn't because that would be a crushing blow for the lad, might cause him to question whether the rehab is worth it, that would mean he'd pretty much missed two seasons out of three.

Yes, I really fear for his future. The word tragedy is greatly overused in sport but this would be a tragic failure to fulfil potential through injury.

Quote from Guardian pre-season review, "Saqib Mahmood, fit again but still building up his overs, is expected back in late April"www.theguardian.com/sport/2024/apr/01/county-championship-2024-team-by-team-guide-to-the-new-seasonI would really like to see Saqib have a successful red ball career. Saqib was interviewed in the Daily Telegraph last week and he mentioned May as hopefully returning to red ball cricket, he didn't say early or late. As was the case when he played last season I think it will take him a few games to get back to where he was.

Good to hear a player being so positive about playing red ball cricket when so many want white ball contracts and franchise cricket. I hope his injury problems are behind him now.
