I know that grounds soak up the rain better than they used to do when I was a regular at OT, but I was thinking more in terms of the rain that has already fallen really. Tomorrow’s weather will be what it is.

By my calculation we get a top three finish if we beat Essex on Thursday.

By my calculation we get a top three finish if we beat Essex on Thursday. Another way of looking at it is I reckon we need to match both Worcestershire and Hampshire's result in their last game to stay ahead of them. Thankfully they both have to play Durham in their last game. As the Glos Middx game was cancelled I think that makes it hard for them to catch Lancs.

Will now have to be a decent sized win to get a home game.
