Derby seem keen on Moulton and have signed him on loan for the rest ofbthe season and put him in the squad for the next game. See how he goes. Quite a few of their squad have either played for us or played league cricket in our county. Yes, just a few, could make a reasonable team including those regularly playing in their seconds ....
for Lancs: Reece, Guest, Moulton
for Lancs 2nds: McKiernan, McGladdery, Aitchison
for Lancs Age Groups: Critchley, Kershaw
League Cricket in Lancs: Madsen, Smit (too many clubs to mention), du Plooy (Burnley, Haslingden), Dal (Rainhill), Goldleman (Morecambe)

Not sure if Steven Croft has a contract for next season but i,am sure his days are numbered as a player, think they will find a place on the coaching staff for him, watch out the rest of the coaches, someone could be given the chop for Croft just like they did with Stanworth and Yates.

Didn't they sign Benkenstein as a short term batting coach earlier in the year. That could be his vacancy, but has he done any coaching badges? Does seem strange they have no-one permanently in a parallel position to Onions. No doubt the cancellation of the Test Match will have an effect.

Croft has been a fine all rounder for Lancs and I can see why they would want to find him a job but what has missing in our batting for years is the ability to play against the moving ball. I can't see anything in Croft's batting record that suggests he would be the guy to remedy this. He would be more usefully employed in sharpening up the fielding, at which he excelled for most of his career.

An "In In" I guess is Mark Chilton replacing Paul Allott. I suppose his is Chapple's boss now?

Yes, a surprising move. What's the betting that Croft takes Chilton's old job after a 'rigorous recruitment process'?

Competitor counties are recruiting overseas players for next year. Recent announcements include seam bowlers for Middlesex and Notts. I hope our leaders are active. Chilton has a Consultant on board for this task. Like 2021, I suggest the target for early season should be a seamer to participate in rotation.

How long is it since Allott said that they were negotiating new contracts with all players on the staff other than Davies, Shah and Moulton (at the members meeting)? Either for 2022 or 2022 and 2023.
Must be very tricky negotiations if they are still ongoing.
With no staff on furlough any more, if the club were serious in informing members and supporters they should be in a position to say something by now. Or do we have to wait for the usual back into training ‘excitement’ at the start of November to see which faces are present and which are missing?

Agreed. Did Allott's comments at the members meeting imply that they were negotiating a contract extension with Croft? I'm asking because of the speculation here that he could be retiring.

Tom Bailey didn't pick up his player of the year award in person and apparently still out of contract.
Could this be another important player disillusioned with the clubs offer.
Danny Lamb is apparently also out of contract.
Only Bell was offered a contract out of the 3 who played for England under 19s. Don't we rate Aspinwall all of a Sudden? How much would it cost? Do we think we are covered for talented young all rounders?
What is going on with this club? Has the county side slipped so far down the list of priorities?
This is the club that made a big show of not furloughing its players. The 2020 accounts show an operating profit. Surely they would have got some compensation and or insurance settlement on the India test. They now have a test match for 22 to sell tickets for. The odd and t20 games are on their way to sell outs. May get some additional matches that were due to be held in Leeds too. If we lose any more senior players from penny pinching Gidney needs to be pressurised to resign.

This is not consistent with the Forum account. Perhaps Lamb and Bailey are out of contract in 2022, with the expectation of extended contract now.

This is not consistent with the Forum account. Perhaps Lamb and Bailey are out of contract in 2022, with the expectation of extended contract now. That is true, in the absence of formal announcements or statements on the club website, that poisiton is based on what Allott said at the Members Forum.
Allott was on record at the members forum to saying Davies, Shah and Moulton were leaving and “we are in the process of finalising contracts for everyone else on the staff. The majority of them have got contracts to the end of 2022 we are either leaving some of those at 2022 or extending them beyond that.” Since then the club have announed Burrows has left (when they announced Bell had signed a contract).
The club have not formally said anything about Lamb’s contract since he signed a 2 year contract at the end of 2018 (ie. for 2019 and 2020) he clearly played in 2021 and can be seen in training in the clip they put on the website recently. Likewise, they have not said anything formally about Bailey’s contract signed he signed a two extention in December 2018.
Boyden and Aspinwall were both born in 2004, Bell was born in 2002. The club probably don’t think Boyden and Aspinwall are old enough for a contract yet. Not many ever get contracts to be on to the staff at 17 at Lancashire.
As far as I’m aware the only players that the club have made formal announcemts that they are contracted for 2022 are Buttler, Wells, Jennings, Wood, Salt, Blatherwick and Bell.
