Bohannon displays the best footwork I've seen from a Lancs batsman for a long time, allowing him to get quickly into position to play off either front or back foot. Very similar to Joe Root in that respect. Not saying he'll be as good as Root, but it'll give him a chance to succeed at a higher level unless one-day cricket ruins him like it has so many other players.

Anyone attend Forum this evening? What was said? Here
Disappointing question and answer session - almost all about the Hundred.
Why no overseas replacement for Iyer, Bird? Or Vilas in the RL50? Early intention was full overseas compliment why the change of heart?Taylor Cornall? Played in RL50 and then almost straight away discarded? Is fielding a 2nd XI with an average age under 19 a change of policy at the club? Why hardly ever give information about injured players? What if any is the date for an anticipated return of those currently injured?

The criticism of Livingstone is a little unfair. It wasn't a great shot yesterday but cricketers with far more experience have shown the difficulty in moving between white ball and red ball cricket. I doubt the fixture list next season will go anyway to providing a more coherent structure for cricketers and spectators alike but we can but hope. Personally, I haven't given up hope that Livingstone will be a cricketer of substance in red ball cricket but the lure of franchise cricket is likely to diminish the likelihood.
His innings also reminded me of Mo Ali's in the last Test match, who is in a similar position of playing red ball cricket after a plethora of white ball, in that in the context of the game there was little riding on the individual innings.

Will Rhodes hinted that he would be pretty happy with a draw in this match, so if there’s going to be a declaration I suspect it would only be a token one after tea.

It's not just the problems of adaptation, Oldham; it's Livingstone's constant failure to engage his brain that is so frustrating. Around four years ago I was at Edgbaston for a Bears v Lancs T20. Lancs batted first and Livingstone repeatedly swiped across the line, missing four balls in succession, and was then bowled middle stump by a straight one. A Warwickshire supporter said to me, "Is he always so stupid?"

Zero chance of a result at tea, they will call it a draw with 16 overs to go, know it was a different game back then but three day games on uncovered wickets were far more entertaining than four day bore draws on perfect wickets

And indeed skill. I do think they tried it again one year not so long ago though but because the wickets had changed so much it didn’t work. Am I right or am I imagining that?

You had to learn how to bat especially if the wicket was wet, as predicted a draw Cast your mind back to a game possibly against Essex about 20 years ago were great weather saw only 2 innings completed in four days 700 played 600. Our wickets are too good at OT given the better bowlers are not available it makes for tedious days like today

BEEB report
LV= County Championship Division One, Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester (day four): Warwickshire 371: Benjamin 127, Hain 118 and 239-6 dec: Sibley 57, Hain 48, Benjamin 42 Lancashire 341: Bohannon 170, Vilas 67; Norwell 6-57 Lancashire (12 pts) drew with Warwickshire (12 pts)
England's discarded opener Dom Sibley hit only his third fifty in his last 22 first-class innings as Warwickshire batted out a draw with Lancashire on a dull final day at Old Trafford.
Neither side tried to force a victory as both settled for a draw which leaves the Bears in top spot in Division One and Lancs in second.
After resuming on 52-1, the Bears took up 81 overs to move on to 239-6.
First-innings centurions Sam Hain and Chris Benjamin made runs.
Hain finished on 48, to add to his 118 in the first dig, while Benjamin's 42 gave him an individual match haul of 169 on his County Championship debut - even though it brought to an end his run of 50-plus scores in a Bears shirt.
In only four innings for the Bears, one in the T20 Blast, one in the One-Day Cup and now two in red-ball cricket, the South African discovery from Durham University has now had consecutive knocks of 60*, 50, 127 and 42.
England limited-overs spinner Matt Parkinson finished with 4-94 for a seven-wicket match haul to take him to 31 scalps for the season.
After accruing 21 points to carry over from their group games earlier in the season, the Bears lead the table on 33 points - clear of second-placed Lancashire (28.5) and three-day Wednesday winners Nottinghamshire (28).
Both sides now face a quick three-day turnaround.
The Bears are at home to Hampshire on Sunday, when the Red Rose travel to Trent Bridge to face Nottinghamshire.

Weather perked up but a draw as predicted on day one. Worryingly Bailey started the day on the field but went off shortly afterwards and was subbed for the rest of the match. Hopefully not injured.
I thought Parkinson was over bowled especially when no result was likely. More use could have been made of Balderson and Lamb - maybe not wicket takers but economical.

I imagine they were saving the seamers further effort once the draw was inevitable. Really quick turnaround with the game against Notts starting on Sunday.

I imagine they were saving the seamers further effort once the draw was inevitable. Really quick turnaround with the game against Notts starting on Sunday. That is my concern. Parky's 86 overs is the most he has bowled in a CC match this season. On last day 81 overs bowled and Parky did 40! On a positive note Luke Wood was doing some 12th man duties yesterday so hopefully he'll be fit for Sunday. With Davies and Jennings averaging close to 50 this season we need Jennings back as soon as possible as well.

I wonder if even if we assembled the best team in the country we could win the championship playing at Old Trafford. That was a dreadful wicket for cricket. Slow and dead. I appreciate there have been alot of games and the central block of international pitches need to be high quality but surely we can get a few either side of them that at least offer something for the bowlers and help the team and the people watching. That was turgid this week.
Are the club even interested in a loss making competition those in power would happily down grade to a semi under 23 competition?
It seems even against sides we are much better than we need 4 days of dry weather and a bit of luck to force the win. Hard to get average players out if they dig in on that slab of nothingness.
Liverpool is very flat and does nothing if the sun is out so may struggle in the last game.
