The papers saying Jimmy not available due to fatigue after the test series.
Vilas suggested the game would be too soon for Saqib.
Wood may be back but probably an unchanged side after such a good win.
The lack of temporary stands says it all about the committees attitude to cricket at the moment.

Also they put a gig at Old Trafford on the same week of such a vital match.
I've just read Graeme Fowler's Absolutely Foxed and he said in his book "Our committee always paid lip service to the idea that they wanted to challenge to win the Championship, and that they would do things to help to make it happen." He played in the 1980's, no change there then.

There is definitely a feeling that they see the championship as a loss making competition and don't really care about making a major effort to win it.
We have not signed a second overseas for September. An international class batsman instead of Jones could make a serious difference.
We prepared a dead lifeless wicket for the Warwickshire game where a result was virtually impossible. Other teams have had plenty of games on their square and been able to produce a better wicket than that.
We schedule a concert for September so we have to play the deciding game at a ground with no floodlights or modern drainage system.
We don't bother with temporary stands so limit our crowds and part of our home advantage for the crucial game.
We were happy not to play at Headingley when we could have gained crucial extra points which could cost us next week.
All in all I think they pay lip service to winning as they have in the past.

Think the Headingley quote is a bit iffy, it wasn't exactly our decision to stop playing, think what Lancs said was keeping the peace and was a bit different to behind closed doors comments!

Not many good overseas available with COVID and the IPL at the same time. Think the only side with 2 overseas players in the top Division is Somerset and that's done them good. Would hope we are looking at a Batsman or 2 for next season though

I have to say that the comments above ring very true to me and having had to get my free tickets as a member of the Liverpool cricket club through the Lancashire website, I can only agree with the articles in the fanzine “ Not the Spin” about how bad the ticketing system is. I got there in the end but would not bet on navigating that system in 10 years time. I feel zero regrets about my decision to end my membership a few years ago. I’m absolutely behind the players this week, however.
Met some great Somerset fans at Taunton just as I have through Lancashire‘s forums. On the one hand it is sad that so many of them share my view that county cricket is finished but on the other hand, it is always good to meet kindred spirits .

Any info on Josh?
Biggest threat to the future of CC is the ECB not the LCCC board.....

LCCC are part of the ECB. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

Email just received from a friend of mine who is an ex Lancashire member and has a record I envy of seeing every day at home in 2011 .. I had sent her the articles from” Not the spin “ about the ticketing system
“ That was a very frustrating read but hardly surprising given their history of not caring a jot about the fans. I’ve just tried to look at buying tickets on the website only to be sent in circles and never getting to an actual purchase page! Can you pay on the gate? I am thinking of coming to one or two days but not Wednesday as I have to take the car for MOT. ”

I find this very strange. He was going to play in the cancelled test match last week. His next scheduled game for England is the Ashes in December. Who made this decision the ECB? Jimmy?

What is the situation with parking at Aigburth? Is it possible to pre-book a parking place?
