Won off the last ball. A terrific fight-back by the bowlers after being hammered all over the field but it was a huge gamble by Yorkshire to chase on a used pitch. When they'd got the rate down to 8s they must have thought it had paid off but the runs dried up and the bowlers were encouraged and started to bowl at their best. Great match-winning move by Vilas to bring back Gleeson earlier than planned.

I bet I wasn't the only person who thought that last ball had gone sailing out of the ground!

Noticeable the number of empty seats Attendance given as 11,300.

Yes, a good attendance but around 2,700 unsold seats on a pleasantly warm evening. I wonder if Yorkshire have lost some of their following after last year's troubles? It's not as if they have been doing badly in the tournament.
Although this was an exciting match because Lancs twice came back from the dead, I really don't think pitches as flat as this one do anything but give ammunition to the purists who like to compare T20 to baseball. The only saving grace was that it began to deteriorate quite rapidly after about 32 overs, which gave our bowlers a chance.

I've been on their message board and quite a lot are put off by the antics on the Western Terrace which reaches a zenith/nadir at the Roses clash.
I was at the Oval last night, I reckon around 16k there, no problems. They're going gangbusters at the moment but wonder how they'll fare on wearing pitches. Don't know if they'll have Narine for the KO stages.

Interesting that Lancs have posted highlights and a report very quickly this morning compared to the lack of report after the Leicestershire game. Clearly, they didn't know what they could say or simply couldn't agree anything internally due to the "injuries" picked up at Grace Road. What on earth was the problem in giving a full squad and say that Wood and Livingstone would be given fitness tests prior to the match?
Gleeson is clearly showing the benefits of short sharp bursts of pace. He can give everything as it is never more than 3 overs on the bounce. Not sure it is ever planned to leave your best bowler to the 20th over, as that might be irrelevant if the 18th and 19th go wrong. Think that is accepted by everyone these days.

Fair point but he did bowl the last over in the reverse fixture. Anyway it was definitely the right decision to have him bowl the 18th. I've been critical of the tactical decisions made by Vilas so praise where due. Signs in the last two games that Lamb is recovering a bit of confidence, although nerves nearly got the better of him last night!

Vilas’ main problem was, I thought, not adapting to the situation, appearing to stay on Plan A and under bowling the best bowler on the night. It may also be possible that he / they / TPTB are a late convert to the 20th over being less important. Agree Lamb was a little disappointing last night trying to defend 17 but of all the places they play there will few with such a crowd against them maybe Edgbaston for the last game. Would be nice if little to play for by then.
Any progression to the QFs is likely to depend on how they survive their last six matches: three games without England players and then 3 away games.

Yes, probably should have found another over for Hartley. I think the Warwickshire game is actually at OT. Don't think much will be riding on it unless there's a sudden and collective loss of form.

Livingstone rested due to playing against the Dutch next week Another interpretation could be that he wasn’t fully match fit to play against Yorkshire, following his injury at Leicestershire?
In other news Aussie Nathan Sowter joins Durham on loan from Middlesex, going straight into today’s squad.
