I presume we don’t actually pay him a salary? I guess not.
But he may play against Yorkshire tomorrow. There is only a short window before he starts playing for England. I assume either the club don't know his (un)availability or think there is something to be gained in keeping silent over the matter. Every time they announce a squad supporters ask the same question: "where is Buttler?" The club always ignore them, and can't add one short sentence of explanation. Poor but typical.
Wisden tweeted Brook and Parkinson have been allowed to play T20 this week, presumably that means against each other and lessens the chance either plays in the second test on Friday.

Assume it will be a straight Parky for Wells swap. Am I right in thinking Leicester is quite a big ground?

Yes, it is a big ground but slightly unusual in that the boundaries square of the wicket are miles away, while the straight ones are relatively close. Oddly, Leics have lost both their T20 games at Grace Road and won their three away games at New Road, Headingly and Edgbaston. Watching them beat Warwickshire I thought their attack looked well suited to pitches where the ball sticks a bit but may be less effective on a pitch where there is bounce and carry.

Livingstone and Wood injured? What's the story? If so Buttler for Livi and Wells for Wood tomorrow?

Didn't see what happened but both of them only bowled one over, Bohannon and Wells were fielding for most of the Leics innings and Livingstone didn't bat. The decision to bat first came back to bite the Foxes as the rain forced their spinners to bowl with a wet ball. Callum Parkinson, who looks a class act, did OK but leggie Rehan Ahmed, who destroyed the Bears last week, couldn't control the ball at all and got whacked all over the place.

According to Cricinfo, Livingstone has a "knee niggle" and Wood a "tight quad" but they could be OK for the Durham match.

I was going to suggest Buttler for Jennings at the top of the order tomorrow, but if Livingstone is out then Jennings to keep his place in the team.
I've heard tomorrow's game is to be played on the same strip as Yorkshire's game against Notts last night. Yorkshire love to bat first, so if we win the toss I hope we elect to have first knock, unless of course there looks to be a chance of weather interruptions when the shortened game then appears to favour the side batting second.

I watched the Yorks/Notts game. Looked a pretty flat pitch but Notts bowled so many pies in the power play that Yorkshire's 200+ score probably flattered them. Notts then collapsed in the power play, just as they did against Lancs. Mullaney and Christian put on a good stand but Notts were never in the hunt. No rain forecast for Leeds this evening so the side batting first on a used pitch should definitely have an advantage.

The club still seem confused over whether they are based in M16 or MI6. After 10 am and still no report on last night's game. Maybe Ken Grime is allowed a day off and they are worried about using the ECB report as it mentions injuries to key players who might be fit again for Friday's match. Still refusing to mention the word Buttler, maybe someone is trying to ring his mobile to ask about his availability. Still no announcement about any possible replacement for Hassan Ali. Still no report of the seconds recent games, is Blatherwick injured? Let's just tweet something banal about Tim David hitting sixes. Does that sum up the communications team's understanding of cricket, or is it their belief that is the only thing their supporters understand?
ETA: By the time Lancs put a report on last night’s game on the website, they use word for word the ECB reporters network report (without credit) except the paragraph referring to Livingstone and Wood’s injuries was left out.
Maybe they weren’t injured just rested mid match by the ECB prior to the ODI series in the Netherlands or so Lancashire would have us believe.

Being upfront with members and supporters is not in the club's DNA. Never has been in the 50 years I've been following Lancs.

I wouldn't put anything past the club's dubious approach to communication but the way they bowled could have been due to feeling an injury. Wood especially couldn't find the right line.
