From LCCC Website regarding next weeks members' forum post the Worcestershire game..i.e. at 10.00pm!
for a "honest discussion on views regarding next year’s schedule."...and to "openly consult Members for their views on the possible outcomes of the High Performance Review."
the meeting on Wednesday 3 August"(with the ECB) .......an open discussion between all involved and there were no formal proposals presented to the counties."
I wonder what was the view put forward by LCCC in this open discussion???
Change of time now 12.30pm

Personally if something has to go then this would be it...though it would a month without CC of any sort. Of course it wouldn't rest those players in the Hundred.

In addition to tomorrow's meeting the club is calling a special general meeting on 5th September to "further consult with Members on the domestic schedule for 2023........the Club is committed to formally consulting with Members, via an official vote. This vote will only take place once the ECB has provided counties with a proposal for next year’s domestic schedule.

I don't understand this. At a meeting on 5th September they will vote on a proposal by the ECB on next year's schedule. So if the ECB's proposal is voted down, Lancashire will say exactly what to the ECB? And what will the ECB say? "Of course we will change our proposal to improve the England test team performance because the Lancashire members don't like it, and have put up such strong arguments that we had not thought of before."
What will be the Members position if the other 17 counties agree to the ECB proposal? Withdraw from the championship?

The meeting is on 30/8/2022 9am at Old Trafford Isn’t that the date of the semi final of the RL50? Either they are expecting to have a home tie at OT, or they are expecting to be knocked out by then. Or they are unaware of the clash.

Well attended meeting before the Worcester game and we got some background to the review.
At the ECB meeting on the 3rd, attended by the Counties, no proposals were put forward possibly because at that point the ECB had no chairman. A Chair has now been appointed and it is someone who is keen on County Championship.
The issue is that it is considered that the amount of cricket being played at County and England level is too much and there is not enough time between games for rest and recuperation and the treatment of injuries.
So something has to go. However if they reduce the number of televised games then the TV companies will want a refund and TV money is crictical to the smaller counties who, without it, could have to close down. So that narrows it down to fewer games in the CC or the RLO.
The only solution I could think of was to have a larger squad so allowing rotation; as is happening with Williams and Bailey in the RLO.
Whatever the ECB comes up with it will require the agreement of 12 of the Counties.

Following yesterday’s confirmation that the Special General Meeting (SGM) will now take place on Tuesday 30 August at 9am in The Point at Emirates Old Trafford, the Club would like to provide a short update ahead of the formal agenda and resolutions being received by all Members who hold voting rights.
Firstly, the Club appreciates that the scheduling of the SGM will not be convenient for all Members to attend in person. Due to several factors - including being heavily restricted on available dates due to the upcoming Test match, the Bank Holiday weekend, and Board Member availability – and the general lack of flexibility an SGM offers, compared to a Members Forum, according to our constitution, we were left with a restricted number of available dates.
However, due to the likelihood of there being no further update from the ECB by August 30, it is worth reiterating that the key purpose of the SGM is to vote on the resolutions, rather than entering into an open forum for debate.
With this in mind, we wanted to remind Members that they do not need to be present in order to cast their vote. All Members with voting rights who cannot attend the SGM, and/or wish to vote by proxy (by post), will receive a letter in the next week which includes their proxy vote form and a pre-paid envelope allowing them to return their voting form to the Club’s auditors.
In order for all Members to feel informed on the Club’s current position regarding the ECB High Performance Review, we would like to share with you the recording of the recent Members’ Forum held prior to Lancashire’s Royal London Cup match at Emirates Old Trafford on Wednesday (August 10).
With no further update or a final proposal expected from the ECB before the SGM, the Club will not be able to add detail over-and-above that expressed at the Forum, but questions can be raised at the SGM should Members so wish.
The Members’ Forum can be viewed in full, here. The planned Members Forum will still take place on Monday 5 September after Day One of Lancashire’s County Championship match against Yorkshire.
Once a formal proposal is received from the ECB, most importantly, Members will be given an opportunity to express their views via a further in-person Members Forum, before any vote of Counties on proposed changes. As stated previously, we have made this clear to the ECB.
In the meantime, if Members would like to contribute to The Cricket Supporters Association (CSA) survey that covers a range of issues in the domestic game, with the results to be presented to the ECB and taken into account as part of the High Performance Review. You can access the survey directly, here.

Got the e mail yesterday clicked the link to the survey apparently already closed The website for the link to the survey is cricketsupporters.com I did it this morning. Sh*te survey. But I’m baised as I’m a member of a County Cricket Club, that people like them never mention. Have complained bitterly expect to be duly ignored.
The ECB dug this hole: reap what you sow etc, by doing exactly Gidney (I’ve only watched his intro so far) is claiming members should not do: impose / fixate on one format without thinking of the consequential ripples elsewhere. They brought in franchise cricket not only ignoring the rest of domestic cricket in the UK, but aggressively marketing it against existing county cricket. They have never demonstrated how franchise cricket can sit alongside the other formats. Clueless and Irresponsible. They would be behaving actually like a cuckoo does, except it’s their own nest that they are kicking eggs from.
I wonder how they will demonstrate - other than financially - what the role is for franshise cricket in terms of the Performance of the England Cricket Team?

My concern is that one or two rounds of county championships will be scheduled to coincide with the Hundred. I have come round to the idea that the 50 over competition is now a development competition and enjoy following it but I would find it unacceptable to have severely weakened teams playing in the county championship.
