I was very surprised at today's starting XI. Basically our bowling attack consisted of 3 front line bowlers and 3 part timers. Vilas came in and replaced a bowler which left us short. Bohannon's was an important knock but I still feel that for a number 3 he does not rotate the strike as much as he should.

BBC website has it at Blackpool as well. Could do with LCCC letting us know what the ticket situation is.

I assume they were looking to the future which is a good thing. I was surprised that Jennings was captain. Is the reason Lavelle kept his place because Vilas was fit enough to bat but not keep wicket? Or was it because of his success against Northants? I think it is good to give younger players opportunities in the One Day Cup. When Wells is the 6th bowler Lancs have a strong attack but when he is used as a front line bowler we are vulnerable.

I imagine that Lancs thought the chances of finishing top were pretty slim, as Yorks were very unlikely to beat Hants, so there was nothing riding on today's game and they might as well get Vilas back into action and give Blatherwick a go. This would have been fine if the batters had scored another 20/30 runs but too many of the top order didn't get their heads down.

It was a strange selection. Given the complaints that the club have made about the number of games, I don't understand why they didn't rest Croft with Vilas coming in.
As impressive as Balderson was, I think Lavelle is pushing his claim for a place in the T20 side next season, given how quickly he's scoring from ball 1.

Yes, Croft was due a rest and, impressive as he has been this season, he shouldn't be batting at 3 unless a platform has been established and the new ball seen off. There's a reason why for most of his career he has batted at 6.
