Showing the value in the signing of Sundar and Williams - 6 wickets between them. Bailey was out practising in the interval so it can't be injury that he keeping out of side.

A pitch that was perhaps not the best for one day cricket with a pretty sparse crowd. Although it did make a change to the usual slogfest stuff. You appeared to be able to stay in and knock it around but boundary scoring was very difficult. Croft and Jones judged it right even though it looked a bit turgid at the time. What a season Crofty is having.
Bowling was solid throughout - Hurt seemed to generate some decent pace and Williams was accurate. Jack Morley and on my first live viewing of him looks a bit more threatening than Tom Hartley.

Who's likely to come in to replace Jennings then?

I think it is an issue that we don't seem to have anybody coming up through the ranks who is a top order batsmen and that when we need a reserve opener the solution is batting Balderson out of position.

Not sure when it is but read that one of our academy openers Harry Singh has been selected for the England U19 test match squad this month. Don’t want to get ahead of myself but having already scored a century for the seconds surely he could be the answer in a couple of years time. The question is do you trust our coaching staff to give him a chance.

I suppose the other alternative is to bring in Bell or Balderson and shuffle the batting order (with Bohannan opening). Balderson would give us another bowling option but not sure that's needed.

How do other counties manage their young cricketers? If someone is doing well in the 2nds unless you give them a chance in the 1st team you'll never know how they will do. I mean, we see 1st teamers get low batting scores or get tonked around if they're a bowler, it happens. I know we need to do decent in the competitions were in to make money, but there has to be a balance. Especially when at times it feels like we've played certain players "out of position", steady batters in the T20 etc.

Lancashire clearly have young top order batsmen coming through, as have been discussed on here all summer. The majority, if not them all, happen to be 19 or under at the moment. The last thing that the club needs or that they need is for their way into the first XI to be blocked in the next couple of years.

It’s viral on the internet because his father (Rudra Singh) played 2 games for India in 1986 and his father shares his name with the other RP Singh who was part of the India team that lifted ICC T20 World Cup 2007 in South Africa.
Anything to do with India cricket goes viral.
Otherwise, yes that is the question. The problem at Lancs has always been bridging that gap between first and seconds.

The One Day Cup is a good way to bridge the gap between first and second XI cricket.

The One Day Cup is a good way to bridge the gap between first and second XI cricket. yes, unless you see it as the only chance to win some silverware since 2015
and you think your absolute strongest team complete with overseas stars can beat the majority of the others weakened sides
and you think the majority of your audience don’t even know you have a second team, or youth set up, or don’t care, or will be calling for you to sign every single 30 year old who isn’t even available over the winter
or you think winning in the short term is everything
