After going off for bad light play abandoned at 5.40....losing a further 16 overs. Considering the forecast more play then I expected. Lancs making slow progress though.

Wells started like a train 1n the 2nd innings. Scoring quickly important if they want to win this.

Probably a completely different game thanks to the wet ball incident. From 230 for 1 I fancied us to get 500 and the Yorkies to be starting their follow-on about now.
Maybe now we have to give them a chance of winning.

Brutal innings by Wells playing as though this was 20:20 or the H***red - after 100 balls we were 115. Amazing when there are no fielding restrictions in CC. By the end there were no slips and fielders all around the boundary. Lost another 15 overs sadly so we may not have sufficient time to bowl them out especially as the weather looks tricky tomorrow..

Brilliant innings by Luke Wells which has given us an outside chance of forcing a win. If we had gone along at 3 an over in the second innings the game would be dead now.

I hope that in an effort to win we don’t do something stupid such as, for example if the first session was lost to the weather, declare and give Yorkshire two sessions to score the 225 they would need for victory.
