Need these 2 openers to bat for a long spell to save this, although the pitch ain't offering much. We've just seen us many times crumble down the order once an opener gets out.

And just like that they are both gone. The next 3 all have to step up now. Croft and Vilas were both poor first innings for me.

Fair play to Bohannon and Crofty in steadying the ship.

Agreed...more like a 5 day test pitch - needed far betters bowlers to force a result than we or Surrey possess though from a purely Lancs point of view a draw suits us.
Only one "head in hands" moment when Wells pulled straight to the fielder at fine leg.
Interesting to note that Bohannon innings was the fourth time out of five times running where he has passed 50 1st class runs in an innings and gone on to score a 100. Also passed 3,000 1st class runs today....

Savd the game with ease. Pity we played so poorly on the first two days (first session excepted).

Luke Wells spent most of time sitting on the naughty seat in the player's balcony after his dismissal.

I was out most of the afternoon and lost track of this game, although I understood there were potentially 107 overs to be bowled, with a new ball due after 80.
Thinking therefore with the international bowlers at Surrey’s disposal that things could become tricky, I was surprised to see that a draw had been agreed with around 20 overs remaining and the new ball, assuming it was taken, only around seven overs old.
Was there a light problem I was unaware of, or did Surrey just decide it was futile to continue?
Either way, having conceded around 450 runs after inviting the opposition to bat, it was a bonus to get the draw points.

I think it had become pretty clear to Surrey that no more Lancs batters were going to give away their wickets like they did in the first innings so the chances of getting out eight more in the remaining time were close to zero. Lancs deserve credit for a good fight-back from day 3 onwards and the poor performance from lunch on day 1 to the end of day 2 has cost very little in the end. However, if OT keeps producing pitches like this one, we will have no chance of winning the title.

Apparently former Lancs player Livingstone is fit now and flew to India yesterday whilst Mahmood should be playing for the seconds this week.

I know the answer but when Livingstone was on the commentary last week during the Surrey game I was wishing the co-commentator would ask "Why are you going to the IPL, why not give something back to the county and fans that made you what you are and play in the county championship, and same for the likes of Buttler as well!" They didn't even talk about Lancashire once I don't think, all about England and IPL. Disappointing. What does Lancs get out of keeping these players around when they don't play for the county? Do they get money from England or the IPL?
