Just switched on, looks like another bad batting performance. Bell batting at 10 why?

Was Livingstone always going to be captain for T20 or is it because Jennings is injured?

I wonder if that has ruffled the camp. Granted we had 2 decent performances with Livingstone as captain before this collapse.

Very impressive from Blathers on debut, 4-0-20-2, 11 dot balls and only one boundary

Another worthless stream. Test counties should be fined for having such poor infrastructure.

4th defeat on the trot. Other results have gone for us to some extent with Leicestershire and Northants winning. I can't see us getting a home tie in the quarters and even qualifying could be a struggle now.

“Very impressive from Blathers on debut, 4-0-20-2, 11 dot balls and only one boundary” I’ve been asked several times on the Somerset Forum about him since he looked such a good cricketer at the end of the season before last at Taunton. Seems to have been mainly injuries since then, and he doesn’t seem to have been pulling any trees up when I have looked at the second team, but glad to see this. I know nothing about 2020 , but on figures in both forms, De Grandhomme looks to be putting in an effort to join the Lou Vincent and Danny Morrison hall of fame.

Yeah there has been nothing for the 2nds that suggested he should be given a chance for the first XI, nice for him to make his T20 debut and do well though, and on his 25th birthday as well - been revised to 4-0-21-2 for some reason.
Said at the time CdG was a strange signing, but expect him to come into his own in the List 'A' matches. Lou who?

Yes, De Grandhomme doesn't look to have been a great acquisition! On the more general topic of why a winning side has turned into a losing one, I think that, in no particular order, the reasons are:
1. Livingstone's captaincy. Like Botham and Flintoff before him, Livingstone is not captaincy material but needs a good captain to get the best out of him. As in previous games where he has been captain, there has been no discernible plan for either batting or bowling and he seems to have no ability to assess the pitch and decide on a defendable score when batting first. Lancs got off to a great start in the first three overs but it quickly became apparent that there was a lot of assistance in the pitch for accurate spin bowling. A good captain would revise the target down from around 200 to around 160 and instruct the batters to play the ball into gaps and run hard, instead of trying to score a six off every ball. Livingstone's regular tactic of trying out every bowler during the power play doesn't work either.
2. The disruption to team spirit caused by parachuting in players from the IPL who quite obviously don't justify being selected.
3. What looks like a random approach to team selection. Why wasn't Parkinson playing today on a pitch that would have suited him down to the ground? What's the point of playing Jones and Bell at the bottom of the order?
4. The failure of our overseas players to perform to the expected standard. Daryl Mitchell has been OK at best. De Grandhomme shouldn't be in the team on performances to date.
I'll be pleasantly surprised if we get out of the group.

Did Scott Read mention why Parkinson was left out on commentary? Was he even there? Or Wells?
Lancs website makes no mention, doesn't give a squad just saying in passing Blatherwick added to the squad in place of Wells and Mahmood.

He has captained England for God's sake! Might help his game and Livingstone's.
