Picking Jones over Parkinson not looking a great bet so far...
He's clearly a lovely lad, Jones, and he'll have a good career somewhere, but it just isn't happening for him at Lancs is it.

Picking Jones over Parkinson not looking a great bet so far... He's clearly a lovely lad, Jones, and he'll have a good career somewhere, but it just isn't happening for him at Lancs is it. My understaning is that he turned down an approach from Middlesex a couple of years ago. But it's not his faulty that he was, if as you say, picked ahead of Parkinson. No-one would expect him to step aside: "Coach you've called that wrong, play Matt not me". No-one would say that.
He has taken first class wickets, should be bowling before Bell.

I agree. When he gets it right, Jones is an effective leg spinner and should at least be given a go.

Not been watching/listening much this morning, I didn't realize Bell was bowling. Nice from Balderson who if I remember correctly got knocked about a bit yesterday? Nice comeback with wickets. Lets not do our usual of this season and let them make a comeback, lets finish them off like we should have done a few times this season.

Organ got his wickets by bowling into the rough created by Keith Barker's LH over-the-wicket so I suppose Lancs thought they should try a bit of off-spin. They'll be relieved to have got three wickets in the session when for a long time it looked as if they wouldn't get any.

Seems to have something even if there is a ring he loses the control of our opening bowlers as at Taunton and here. He and Blatherwick seem to have swapped performances from first innings to second. |
