Disappointing day of attritional cricket on a flat, slow pitch. As others have said, this match should have been at an outground.

Lloyd on comms it’s a great wicket for a leg spinner if only we had one! ***************************** Not only that, David also stated that a bowler with a bit of extra pace such as a LUKE WOOD could be useful on this test match pitch. Exactly what many of us have been crying out for recently!

Northants will be desperate for a win so may be willing to set a target, if needed, but will Lancs be more desperate to avoid a loss?
Impressed with the new Edge facility which provides the long required extra space for members' dining and comfy seating too. Not so keen on the piped music and the tv screens only showing the score and not the game.
No idea what the thinking, if any, was behind only opening a small part of ground...and then being forced to open a part of a.

Shame Luke Procter fell short of a ton.
There's no chance, but I'd like to see an annual Players v Past Players match as part of the pre-season at Aigburth: Hameed (Notts), Davies (Warwickshire), Guest (Derby), Jones (Worcester), Reece (Derby), Mullaney (Notts), Simpson (Middx), Procter (Northants), Clark (Surrey), Lamb (Sussex), Parkinson (Kent).
Not a bad batting order. Strange how so many go on to be captains.

Not just a recent phenomenon I think the following also went on to captain other counties Andy Hayhurst, Mark Crawley, John Crawley, Jason Gallian and Ronnie Irani. We've actually done quite a good job for Notts over recent years.

Yet another depressing day at Colditz. Started off with big queue's for the statutory bag search, then only the Pavilion terrace and the brand spanking new world class lower tier hotel terrace open so everyone packed in like sardines before around midday mutiny took place in Stand A when one bloke in particular sat down and refused to move (fair play to that gentleman), after that a little bit of common sense took place (Yes I know, it's very hard to put common sense and Lancashire in the same sentence) and one section of A Stand was opened. I spoke to a senior steward at lunch who told me this game should never have been played at OT as it was far too close to the Test match, he urged me to air my views at tomorrow's Forum. All in all a lot of very unhappy and angry Members who appear to be an inconvenience to the club, obviously Gidney and co much prefer Foo Fighters fans. Maybe the hierarchy wanted this game at headquarters because if this had been played at an outground it would have meant that there was no CC cricket at Old Trafford from 14 May until 10 September, 4 months? On the field another lacklustre performance with no spark, sloppy fielding again, a couple of (difficult) dropped catches, far too many no balls and a general feeling of the team waiting for things to happen rather than making it happen. Before the game both Vilas and Jones were out on the field with the rest of the squad. One more thing, this could quite possibly be Salt's final appearance of the season if he is picked in the England squad for the rake of ODI's in September, if that is the case it will be yet another middle order batsman not available so who the hell will come in for him?

George Lavelle? and shuffle up Bell. Something like: Jennings, Wells, Bohannon, Croft, Bell, Balderson, Lavelle ..... or go back on the concept of no Vilas, no Jones.

342 a/o. Pitch turning a lot more today so Lancs will have to score quickly before the effect of the heavy roller wears off and also before the rain arrives. Morley looks promising.

will anyone stay for the Members Forum? Or does "at the close of play" mean it's happening now?

will anyone stay for the Members Forum? Or does "at the close of play" mean it's happening now? Play was abandoned at 5.00pm so I suspect they would have brought it forward. Unlike last year's forums LCCC aren't broadcasting this one...
