Bloody hell! I feel fatigued just looking at the list. They've clearly learned from the NBA and the MLB. 5 weeks of cricket to reduce 10 down to 4. Given 3, maybe 4, of those teams don't stand a chance it's to reduce 6 down to 4 in reality, boring.

Quite agree! I won't be watching any of it until the knock-out stage, and then probably only the highlights.

Rugby world cup seems similar. Lasting a long time. I get rugby is a more bruising sport and so more rest between games is beneficial. But jeez, France 96-0 against Namibia. England put 70 odd on Chile or whoever it was. Is it worth letting these teams in.

England's next match is against Afghanistan, but, IMHO, Afghanistan should be suspended from the ICC for banning women's cricket. Whilst I don't believe that you should use sport to make overall political points, this is a specific cricket issue, very similar to South Africa when they banned D'Oliveira.

Credit to Australia for cancelling bi-lateral tours with Afghanistan, although I see they are playing them in this World Cup.
