Australia on the way to a massive win, the Dutch are likely to get less than Glenn Maxwell did in 40 balls

After tomorrow each side will have played 5 games, so more than half of the group games.
India (10), New Zealand and South Africa (8 each) lead the way. Then Australia on 6. All with positive NRRs.
Then three sides with 2-3 records so 4pts, and three with 1-4 records so only 2pts. Beginning to look like the top four sides will walk into the next phase - which only starts on 15th November!! Three weeks time!!

England will have to win all their remaining games to have a slim chance, won't they? Very poor. And I don't see the point in "always injured Topley". He's on the treatment table more than Bryan Robson was.

He's on the treatment table more than Bryan Robson was. If England win all their remaining games they and Australia would finish on 12 points, unless New Zealand also beat Australia assuming Aus don't lose to either Afghanistan or Bangladesh.
That's assuming England beat India, Australia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka not to mention the Netherlands.
Joe Root looks like getting his proposal at least considered. But playing the Blast rather than the 50 over comp at the same time as the franchise stuff will really put the Counties against England. No way 3/4s of them will agree. Unless the ECB would consider switching their franchise squads so they are 12 overseas and 3 or 4 county players so that the County's retain more players to keep the Blast strong.

England getting owned by Sri Lanka now. Time for a new man at the top. Send Buttler and Livingstone back to County Cricket.

Actually went to work to avoid this hammering, wonder if the four day game will cop the blame

Enjoyed Joe Root's comment on English players not playing enough 50 over games...bit cheeky from someone who was scheduled to play in the Irish warm up games but didn't bother to play in any.
As usual county cricket will get the blame for England's poor performance and there will be renewed demands for fewer cc games to allow more 50 over stuff.

Don’t want either Buttler or Livingstone back in County Cricket . They’ve both had their Central Contracts renewed too ; nice work if you can get it especially in LL’s case.
