As Des remarked recently, of all the players who've moved on recently, the one we are really missing is Jordan Clark. Imagine Clark coming on to bowl instead of Blatherwick. It would transform the team.

Remember a few years back when Lancs had Anderson, Mahmood, Wood, Hasan Ali along with Bailey available early on? Lamb and Parky around too. is it too early to wonder about Tom Bailey 33 today? I've never known him average 90 before, which will remain the case after 3/14 games unless we avoid the follow on. Two wickets in 64 overs is he fully fit?
Is it bad luck that we employed a top line spinner (who can't bat) for the whole season and then had him denied from playing at the business end of the season therefore preventing an Hasan Ali type bowler to kick start the season?
I think, going forward, it would be prudent to try to sign a couple of English batsmen and channel all the overseas spend into bowlers. Ideally one quick bowler and one spinner.

Bohannon back in the hutch already. This is beginning to look like an early finish despite the pitch being flat. And we thought the spinners would be the main threat.
Balderson is a good young player but i think he is too high at 4 and Bruce has done nothing so far to persuade me he was worth signing although I will be delighted to be proved right by both. The batting does however look poor and i agree i think this season may well br a struggle unless the middle order can suddenly make a quantum leap of improvement.

Think I'll call time on this now we have 6 down. I'll concentrate on the football instead.

Spineless is the word bet hey concerts Oh dear. This is shaping up as a seaspn in which relegation is a real possibility. Why of why did they not sign a middle order batter of a rather higher calibre than Bruce to replace Vilas? Any chance we can get Crofty to come out of retirement in the red ball stuff?

Bailey scored a fair few runs last season that maybe helped to cover up just how short of quality we are and Vilas was still around albeit well past his peak. They are playing a shot a ball. I cant see this lasting much beyond lunch.

I don't suppose having a coach who didn't win a game last season helps, he'll be used to this!

Pathetic. Chilton still in post so you hire the coach of the bottom second division team and you get?...exactly.

That's three games we've lost in the last three seasons, all to Essex!
