When teams number four and five in the league get thrashed like that by teams number one and three, it really does not say a lot for the strength of the league. On the other hand, ninth placed Orrell Red Triangle again put up a decent performance in a losing cause against mighty Ormskirk.

The detailed scores are all in post a couple back and not really a lot to say about individual performances this week that cannot be seen in the summary. That’s excluding the extraordinary performance for Bootle by Hampshire and ex Warwickshire Keith Barker. You have to be good to take nine wickets whilst Will Purser takes only one at the other end.

Batting number four for Rainhill Proctor scored 43 at a run per ball with four fours and three sixes . Probably a demoralised Rainhill side after a big points deduction for fielding an Ineligible player and they were never really on the hunt, Tom Hartley finishing the tail off with 13-2-64-3 having opened the bowling.
