Would probably mean the county that wins Div 2 next season is likely not to be in the top division so next season Div 2 is a meaningless season

I think the most interesting comment I've seen from those inside the game is that "high performance" isn't their only consideration. That they also have to consider the interests of members, spectators and their financial interests. The smaller counties are never going to vote for the reduction in T20. The "red ball festival cricket" also quoted as a red flag as won't attract some crowds as the RL 50.
I heard an interesting proposal from Kevan James on the Hants commentary yesterday. Keep the proposed 50 over white ball KO trophy in April BUT have a RED BALL 50 over comp, much like the current RL50, in August. Using a red ball will change the skill sets required and you have a limited over comp but rewarding some of the skills required in championship cricket.

This podcast contains the Kevin Howells interviews I mentioned in an earlier post. 1st part covers Surrey's victory but then the interviews with Strauss, Alec Stewart and the Sussex chairman about the review.
Over on the Yorkshire forum they seem to be struggling to get the required signatures from members for an EGM. A surprise to me as I expected Yorkshire members to be in the forefront of the battle.

That’s interesting MITS. On my visit to Scarborough, I was really surprised this summer at the sparse crowds and Paul Edwards remarked on it in his reports. You would have expected Yorkshire to be one of the last bastions.

Another members' forum this time specifically about the HPR and in particular the proposed reduction in CC and T20 games.
The club's view that the current schedule is unsatisfactory. They seem to be against the CC reduction and are amenable to playing CC in August despite needing to field a weakened team due to Hundred call ups. Surprisingly they don't seem concerned about two less T20 home games and the loss of income. As we know Surrey are against August games and Sussex the reduction in T20 game so you can see it is going to be difficult to get a concensus.
Next stage is discussions with the ECB to see if they can get that concensus and back to the members for a vote...
From the members various ideas to fit it all in - starting at 10:30 in all CC games; shortening lunch and tea intervals;three days games etc etc. The forum will be available to view on the website....

I know some people are against playing CC cricket in August whilst the 16.4/16.4 takes place, and if we were able to play our strongest team in all other matches and we played every other team twice, then I might agree, but we can't and we don't, so I'd much rather watch CC cricket at an outground in August rather than friendlies which would enthuse nobody. We constantly lose players to 20/20 franchise leagues, England call-ups and Lions call-ups at all times of the season, and we've just had the ludicrous situation of us playing Surrey for the one and only time this season, after they've already won the title. We had no opportunity to influence that title by playing them and potentially beating them earlier in the season.
The current CC setup is far from perfect. Playing fixtures in August is the least of its problems. With no test cricket after July next year, those England players who don't play white ball cricket may even be made available for some of the later fixtures.

Is it legal to tell voters on the face of the ballot/ proxy paper how they are expected to vote?
