Important not to underestimate Kent just because we beat them heavily back in April. They've greatly strengthened their seam attack and will be coming straight off the back of a comprehensive demolition of Warwickshire.

Kent's weakness seems to be their bowling only 17 points...the lowest in Division 1.

other than that only Lamb and Bell not named in the squad, what’s wrong with a squad of 17 (or 18)?
Buttler, Livingstone, Gleeson and Salt in the England T20 squad.
Are they still rotating the bowlers or do Bailey/Williams/Wood all play - rest as cover?
Morley or Balderson in for Parkinson?
Or Morley for Parkinson and Balderson for Jones?

Or Morley for Parkinson and Balderson for Jones? Doubt they’ll play two spinners with the rain around on Monday. Do they trust Lavelle and Jones in the middle order. Could easily be Balderson in for Parkinson which probably means we bat all the way down to 11. I’d go Balderson and Blatherwick in for Jones and Parkinson but I think the coaches have a lot more faith in Jones than I do |

I think Parkinson sustained a hand injury fielding in the first hour of the Northants game which clearly affected him when bowled.
Balderson to replace him with Sundar as the only front line spinner unless they think it will be a real bunsen. Gives extra depth to the batting if vilas is out.
Big game for Lavelle. I was disappointed to read his keeping wasn't so hot in the Northants second innings. Hope he has a strong match.
Kent will be stronger than the first game although Compton can't be in such good form!
A must win game you would have thought given Surrey's form and lead.

I have two weather forecasting apps on my phone.
one suggests it’s going to rain pretty much all day while the other one seems to say that there won’t be much rain.
anyone got any thoughts? This was due to be, probably, my only day at the Championship this year but even so I still don’t want to sit in the rain.

Other issue is low cloud and bad light. My app says may get better 3.00pm onwards. I decided to stay away. |
