Outside chance of second place if Hampshire lose to Warwickshire who need the win to stay up. Whatever happens tomorrow that 6 point deduction makes no difference. 8 points for a Hampshire draw will see then into second place anyway.
But if Hampshire lose? Have they picked up enough bonus points?

Still a chance Yorkshire could go down. Yes, please! Somebody on the Yorkshire forum posted that it made his day when Lancashire were deducted six points. Well it would make mine if they were deducted points and relegated for the racist issues that have been raging around there for the best part of a year. Just on cricket matters only, I reckon it's pretty difficult for Warwickshire to manufacture a win from their current position.

Chris is right: if Hampshire lose, they will finish one point behind Lancs. If they draw, they will finish seven points in front of Lancs. In either case, the six point deduction doesn't come into play. In the end, we didn't pick up enough points against the weaker sides.

Fabulous days watching ; bettter than one day cricket any day. Norwell’s performance reminded me of Glen Chapple’s in about 2008 which saved us from relegation and sent Kent down whereas we actually finished fourth or fifth . Kent had actually been championship contenders before the game. Quite surprised looking at the score that he only took six second innings . cricketarchive.com/Lancashire/Scorecards/132/132399.html

Feel some sympathy for Hampshire missing out on second place. Warwickshire only declared their first innings 4 wickets down because they needed the win to avoid relegation. One more bonus point would have given them second place on the most wins. There again we did get thar six point penalty.

Hampshire's batting seems to have fallen away badly of late, which is why they lost their last two matches. So we finish second but even without the six point deduction we would still have been 19 points behind. Will Chapple look at the possible reasons why we only drew with sides that Surrey beat easily?

Think batting too slowly(especially Bohannon) cost us a bit. Would be interested to see a run rate comparison between us and Surrey throughout the season. Apart from that the OT pitch
