So who comes in for Leach, it's not as big a blow as Australia losing Lyon, but he's a useful performer for England.
Rehan Ahmed would be a massive gamble, would the selectors consider Moeen Ali again, maybe Will Jacks ....

No idea could choose someone in form from the current round of 4 days games but it's one day stuff until next Sunday

Shows how far Parkinson's stock has fallen that he isn't even getting a mention .... even by Lancashire so it seems.

Shows how far Parkinson's stock has fallen that he isn't even getting a mention .... even by Lancashire so it seems. He's to talented to have totally lost it, he just needs a couple of 4-day games to bowl himself back into form, but at the moment if England are looking for a spinner they would probably choose Livingstone ahead of him which would have been laughable a year ago.(Cough) Do you mind with the Man City blue text, some of us are still struggling LOL

England trying to drag Moeen out of retirement to replace Leach. Depressing the seeming lack of alternatives though I think, sadly, that England are looking for someone to just bowl economically, while the seamers rest, rather than a wicket taker.

I've been a huge fan of Mo Ali throughout his career but don't think he's the answer to this question. He is almost wholly a white ball cricketer now and I don't believe he has the concentration required to wither bat or bowl in a Test match. I hope for both his sake and England's that he turns down the approach. If he does turn it down I wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised if England turn to Livingstone: bowling darts, biffing at 8, gun fielder.

Moeen hasn't played first-class cricket for two years now, and expecting him to go straight into a match than may well be the most important of the Summer takes stupidity to a different level, lack of obvious replacements shouldn't come into it.
Hunch, think they might go for Liam Dawson despite the fact he hasn't played Test cricket for 6 years.

How come Dom Bess isn't getting a mention? He used to play quite a bit a few years back didn't he?

MO is back even though doesn't play red ball cricket, as someone stated what incentive does that give county spinners

Interesting to note that Moeen has been installed as Warwickshire's captain in the blast, similarly to Livingstone by Lancs. Their previously unbeaten team in the blast (4-0) has now lost two in a row, the two which he has captained. He has a strike rate of 108 (26 runs from 24 balls) and has taken 1/32 from 3. Should he be taking a post IPL rest rather than coming out of red ball retirement?

“How come Dom Bess isn't getting a mention? He used to play quite a bit a few years back didn't he?” Yorks fans seem to think he has gone backwards and in the game I saw at Scarborough last year he looked some way off a Test player.
