Hope England don't fall for their own publicity and try to smash the ball out of the ground from the start...

Hope England don't fall for their own publicity and try to smash the ball out of the ground from the start... That is what they will do, sometimes just long for the days of Chris Tavare

I went yesterday."Bazball" may divide opinion. There's going to be the occasional cock up along the way but when they get it right like they did yesterday the cricket fan is on the edge of their seat. I can't recall watching such a stunning day of Test match cricket in many a year.

Stuart Broad was saying it was a dull wicket for crowd but it looked good cricket to me.

Australia 386 and 107 for 3 (Khawaja 34*, Boland 13*, Broad 2-28) need 174 more runs to beat England 393 for 8 declared and 273 (Cummins 4-63, Lyon 4-80)
Will they rue the declaration on the first day

I think England's batting in the their 2nd innings is more the problem. Three players got to 40 but couldn't press on for a century.
Anyway looks like rain may save the day....

I think I get it but it's horrible seeing really good betters throw their wickets away in this format when they've got the opposition on the rack. If England lose, hope they don't, the inability to play the match situation will cost them. It might be the only Test in the series where we get Steve Smith and Marnus cheaply in both innings, need to capitalise on that if nowt else.
I'd be interested in what others think about the wicket keeping debate. Before the series I thought JB for Foakes was the obvious way to get JB back in the team. After this Test I think it's the wrong decision! Any keeper can miss chances but his keeping has looked really ordinary in this game and you can't afford to let chances go begging at the rate we have.
So for me Foakes would be back in for the Second Test but terribly difficult to decide who for. Would have to be Duckett, Pope or Brook.
But I expect they'll double down and keep the same top 7 for the Second Test. Bowling not so sure, the next two Tests come in quick succession so there's bound to be some rotation and would expect a horses for courses approach.
