I might be wrong on this but Livi has injury history so it wouldn't surprise me if England want him rested to avoid anything that would keep him out.
Maybe we're harsh on these lads. Maybe they'd like to play but are held back by their contracts. Fair play to Salt, he's played and has been best for Lancs in the CC when it would be easy to just be a one day player.

Salt probably throwing his hat in the ring and playing the long game re England by showing willing and excelling with bat and gloves in red ball cricket. He is 26 Bairstow Buttler and Foakes all in their 30s. |

Are England stopping Livingstone from playing for Lancashire? All England's white ball games this season are in September so I would be surprised if England had an issue with Livingstone and Butler playing CC cricket in July. Livingstone was injured in the winter and maybe still has a "niggle". By my reckoning he has played 24 days or professional cricket so far this year. |

Didn't he get injured for Lancs last summer in a T20 game? I just wonder if a player seems injury prone they will use it as a reason for him to not play. Not necessarily he's still carrying an injury but that he gets injured often.
