Looks like the pitch will win tis onoe. Whilst Kent being quickly rolled over by Notts, who will overtake Lancs in the table, but having played a game more.

Yes, four down now but barring a complete collapse (not impossible with Northants), this one is done and dusted. After livening up a bit on the second day, the pitch has reverted to type: not enough movement for the seamers; not enough bounce for the spinners. The one thing that might have made a difference for Lancs - a genuinely fast bowler - is the one thing the management decided not to recruit this season. Typical of Lancs to recruit Colin de Grandhomme for his "great attitude", rather than his great cricket, but not surprising as "wrong attitude" has seen quite a lot of promising players depart from Lancs.

Not sure how much time was lost to rain, but maybe those extra few hours would have helped Lancs get over the line. Maybe not with this pitch.

Good effort by the Lads to try and force a win over the last two days. Excellent all round performance by Luke Procter to deny us.

Northants left handers helping them draw. Perhaps too much Hartley and not enough Balderson bowling though credit to Lancs for their fast scoring. Gained 3 points over Northants and Kent lost...

Barring a miracle we are staying up. Kent just capitulated today. Not a good sign for their immediate future.

Comparing the OT pitch with that at The Oval helps to explain why Surrey win far more matches than Lancs.

Technically this was a seven day old pitch and we still cannot win.

Not a great round for us, Middlesex win, Notts win to knock us down a place and we ourselves fail to win.
The gap between us and the bottom two is reduced slightly, from 35 to 33 points.
Our game in hand should hopefully mean we won’t have to spend too much time glancing over our shoulder.

Salt is a Lancs player and the other 2 are England players. Think Livi would play if England let him Are England stopping Livingstone from playing for Lancashire? All England's white ball games this season are in September so I would be surprised if England had an issue with Livingstone and Butler playing CC cricket in July.
Let's not forget that Stokes & McCullum picked Livingstone to play against Pakistan as an all-rounder batting at no.8, but he injured himself in that match. You'd have thought that they might want him to play some CC cricket.

There is one Dave but can only be used if you have actually logged on Thanks Andy, when I’m using my main computer upstairs my password is locked in, so in that case I can presumably edit. In actual fact though I can’t remember my password, so when I’m using my wife’s tablet, as I am now, I become a guest!

I was very pleased to see many of the comments on this forum about the shoddy treatment afforded to spectators by the club on Tues (25th). I became exasperated by the fact that none of the stewards were able to explain why we were not allowed to sit in many areas of the ground. I thought the club had relented a little when I saw some people at he front of the small stand to the right of the members stand, so I moved there, but was told by a steward that I could not sit there. Again no explanation was forthcoming as to why I could not sit there. Sadly, I allowed my emotions to get the better of me and responded with a Nazi salute and the words "ZEIG HEIl"
Later, another steward approached me and invited me to discuss the matter with himself and the steward in question. This steward actually stated that he was "only obeying orders", I explained that this was precisely the excuse that German soldiers used to explain atrocities committed during World War 2. I pointed out that this admission by the steward vindicated my gesture, and demonstrated that it was appropriate rather than disrespectful. Following this, they insisted that I leave the ground, and I was escorted out by 3 stewards. I am 71 years of age, and watched my first match at Old Trafford 59 years ago. I suspect I will never visit Old Trafford again.
