Looking at the quality of overseas players who played in this year's PSL it is mostly second tier superstars so I would imagine there will still be a fair amount of overseas players featuring in next year's competition. There are quite a few English players who take the rupee so the early rounds of the CC could suffer. Yep - all the Pakistani players in the PSL and the majority of the overseas players in the PSL are not the players who get picked up in the IPL so the clash won’t affect the PSL player-base much. For the counties however it means those players that would get PSL deals will now be missing for the actual season rather than pre-season. And I think there were a few overseas players that played both PSL and IPL before and as that won’t be possible now the PSL (probably) team will look to get a replacement - an Englishman who may not have got a deal may get one now…

Cox, Du Plooy, Vince, Malan, Stone, Walter, Luke Wood, Kohler-Cadmore, Mousley plus Hales, Mills, Jordan, Willey, Evans and Roy (but they might only play T20?) and a number of Pakistanis and others who would no longer be available to play as overseas players in the UK at the start of the season.

Its been a terrible start to the season with us now in a relegation battle at the half way point of the championship. Even the game we won could have gone the other way when Durham were 300-3 in their second innings. A number of players are underperforming but with such a thin squad we have only limited alternatives. I remember discussions on this board last year about dropping Vilas when he was struggling for runs and then there were good alternatives at the time, Steve Croft, Rob Jones. There was also an ongoing discussion about Hartley v Parkinson in the championship. We do not have these sort of options now.
Since last season we have lost Vilas, Croft, Gleeson, Parkinson, Jones and Lamb. Only Stanley has been recruited who has been injured and seems to be a T20 specialist. Parkinson, Jones and Lamb have all established themselves in the first XI at their new counties and have produced some good performances in the championship.
We certainly have some promising youngsters but we are too dependant on Jennings, Wells, Bohannon, Bailey and Williams.

I keep getting emails saying vote at the AGM but now I see there is no parking at the ground because of the T20 game, that means I won't bother then!

I think it was mistake to persist with the out of form Bailey until the 6th game. Better to have rested him at the 4th. As stated felt we were playing too many bowlers in the last game..lucky to escape with a draw Some positives - Lyon leading wicket taker in less than ideal conditions; Balderson's bowling - batting gone off but not surprising with the amount of bowling he is doing. Both Wells and Bohannon started well but just seem to be having an off seasons. Thank goodness Jennings is having the opposite. On paper Bruce seemed to be a good signing and his scoring has improved the last few games. Hurst and Bell showing promise. Be interesting to see if Mahmood plays in the T20 but we may have to accept his absence in the CC. Still have Jimmy for the next two games. Wonder if he will fancy the final five...hope so..

What will the T20 team be? Wells, Jennings, Croft, Bell/Lavelle, Bruce, Balderson, Hurst, Green, Wood, Mahmood/Bailey, Stanley?
