Is this a response to criticism?
Luke Wood replaces Jack Blatherwick in the only change to the squad after Blatherwick sustained a knee injury whilst fielding in the first innings in Northampton which prevented him from bowling during the second innings of the win.
Danny Lamb and Rob Jones are once again included in the squad in order to provide cover and allow those not included in the 14 to get game time in the Second XI - who face Warwickshire away starting on Monday.

Whats the weather meant to be like? The best I can say is mixed. If the forecast rings true it'll be hard to get a result unless Middlesex become desperate and I'd guess they will only do that when they drop into the relegation zone.

Quite possibly true. The hierarchy have to be aware of the reaction after the squad was announced for the Northampton game.

I think a few members/spectators who usually sit in the Point will be slightly disgruntled when they get to OT on Sunday - it's shut!

The team will be announced at 10am at the toss. It would not be the first time injuries come light in the hour or so before that.
If a batsman or 'keeper picks up or reveals an injury Croft plays not Jones. If Hartley isn't fit Morley plays not Jones. If another bowler gets an injury Lamb plays. Blatherwick, Aspinwall, Mahmood injured. Boyden did not finish the last seconds' match replaced by Morley (somehow).
Because what time would the 2nd XI coach need to leave on Sunday to arrive at the hotel in Warwickshire? Lunchtime, Mid afternoon tomorrow latest. Time for a OT net first. Certainly cover could be provided by an early 2nd XI meet up on Sunday.
Carrying the drinks Monday onward, yes, but not last minute selection cover.

Very pleased to see Luke Wood in the team. I think he will add variety to our pace attack and has been under used in the championship this year. I wonder whether he would have been picked if Blatherwick had not been injured at Northants. I hope that the involvement of Lamb and Jones is limited to twelfth man duties, it would be very disappointing if either of them ended up playing ahead of one of the youngsters, although I'm not sure we have much in the way of alternative pace options. Looking back at the squad for the Northants game it seems the 11 who played had been selected before the team left Manchester and we had any knowledge of the condition of the wicket. If I was selecting a team for an away game I would want to have two specialist spinners in the squad.

Going to old trafford tomorrow. Wood will give some much needed energy to the a9ttack. He has been underused i think is a fine red ball bowler.

I think a few members/spectators who usually sit in the Point will be slightly disgruntled when they get to OT on Sunday - it's shut! As someone who usually sits there I'll be one of them. Thankfully both B upper and lower are open so we can hide from the sun or the pouring rain.

Wood may not have played much in the CC because he wanted to be left out and focus on white ball. We don't know how things go down behind the scenes. Just because Salt seems to want to play as much cricket as he can doesn't mean others do.

If picked this will be Wood's 2nd cc game this season. I think, if it was allowed, he would like to bowl 6 short balls an over

Match day guide Phil, Lancashire like to hide it away instead of putting it on the front of the website where everyone can see it. I had to search for it, eventually found it in the first team fixtures column.
