Look at the number of first team games he has played- not many. Some players mature later than others. Overall i regard his season as one of progress. Remember scott boland made his debut for aus at 33... Yes poor drop but better than england who are being annihilated again.... |

Muggy and close at OT and not nice viewing conditions but good for bowling though surprised that at the end of their opening spell Williams and Bailey only had one wicket each. Thankfully Wood and Balderson managed to add to the total.
Read that Hants have had a 3 point deduction for a poor pitch...lets hope this pitch doesn't get referred..looks ok to me..

Strange decision by Middlesex to bat first, given the humid conditions which are not expected to last. It's not only us who make bad decisions at the toss. Captains and coaches collectively tend to overthink.
Wood revealed we would have bowled first. Would we have bowled as well given the expectation to bowl them out? We'll never know.
Bowling looks to be a stronger suit than batting for Middlesex, so we'll have to see how we get on.
