All out for 327 on the last ball of the day. 76 or Hurst not out.

All out for 327 on the last ball of the day. 76 or Hurst not out. Hurst proving like Livingstone and Bohannon did previously that it's easiest for a batsman to make a debut batting at 7.
Maybe should have declared rather than Morley face 20 balls for 2 runs. Could have had 3 overs tonight at a night watchman. Now Crawley opens up tomorrow am.
Matty Hurst has now scored more runs in the county championship for Lancashire than Colin de Grandhomme.

Not a bad score considering that six batters failed to reach double figures. Jennings and Croft got ones that reared up freakishly; Wells played down the wrong line; Bailey and Blatherwick should have tried harder to stick with Hurst (as Williams did) instead of playing shots rightly described by the Kent commentator as "agricultural". Morley is what is described these days as a "genuine no. 11" and was not to blame.

Lancs reporting may have a bit of explaining to do tomorrow. Still no mention of Hartley or Crawley in that report.
But never say that cricketers aren't getting younger, these days. Lancs twitter account is now describing Matty Hurst as a 19 year old, wasn't he 20 last week?

From 18 for 3 and 240 for 8 what seems a decent total in the end.
With a bowling average in excess of 45, I don't expect Kent to be quaking at the thought of Hartley appearing from tomorrow.

Does Morley offer more than Parky when you take into account the official Lancs line on why Parky has been gotten rid of?

He was mentioned on the youtube comms as being a teenager today.

Tom Hartley to play from tomorrow in place of Will Williams. Zak Crawley will also be available, as England release players. What a joke! That's crazy. Surprised that Hartley is replacing Williams rather than Blatherwick. Guess Lancashire are looking to the future giving Blatherwick game time. Feel bit sorry for Harry Singh he's been a regular in the squad since the One Day Cup but has only played in the game against Cumbria. Feel a bit sorry for Singh? He best get used to it, given the hierarchy are set on an overseas bat next year:
2024 top 7:
Jennings (c), Wells, Bohannon, Overseas, Bell, Balderson, Hurst - with occassional appearances from Salt.
Not much scope 8-11 either, save for rotating the bowlers and covering for inevitable injuries and niggles.

Good point about batting at no.7. I wonder what Rob Jones might have achieved if he'd been able to bat at no.7 when he first came into the side.

Williams is bowling, not sure what's going on. Apparently Crawley (and Hartley) not expected until tomorrow. Rationale suggested was that even though the England match finished early yesterday, it was supposed to be a D/N match so might have been a late night drive. Neither at the ground according to the comms teams on Kent's youtube stream. Nothing from Lancs. Except down at Surrey: Jacks for Lawes (will bat today!) Lawes only took 5 wickets yesterday. Smith for Patel from the third innings.
The muddle of who arrives when is surely making this an even bigger farce.
Neither Kent nor Lancashire coming out of this well. Why do they think they don't have to communicate effectively? Why do you work as Head of Comms and agree not to communicate?
Lancs can bowl Will Williams into the ground today......
