This appears to put it beyond doubt yorkshireccc.com/news/smith-delighted-with-start-to-life-as-second-team-coach/Not neccessarily - surely he'd prefer a 1st team coach job... on the Chapple issue I'd put it down an internal issue rather than Lancs performance this season..
Could be that the two are linked: Lancs may well have had a disappointing season because of trouble behind the scenes. We don't (and won't) know whether Chapple jumped or was pushed. Difficult to believe that Tom Smith or anyone familiar with the set-up at Lancs would want to work with Chilton as DoC. |

Anyone know if we have encouraged outside applications for the role or done any interviews? Or will it just be whispered that it is inevitably Onions and Croft stepping up sometime around when the fixtures come out? I presume we are in contact with prospective overseas players for next season and any new coach would want a say in that? Or is Chilton just bringing DGH back to be good in training?

Gloucestershire supporters are delighted, not exactly a marquee signing. Reports on twitter that Silverwood and Ryan Campbell turned it down. Interestingly Marcus North, no less, contested the veracity of the Campbell rumour.

Underwhelming appointment. Wonder whether he will make changes to the existing coaching staff. He was our batting coach in 2021 so does have a relationship with the club already which I think is a positive. Nothing on the club website yet.
