I've just had an email from Lancs inviting me to buy tickets for Green Day, I wonder if all the fans will be shunted into one stand?

WARWICKSHIRE
Warwickshire have re-signed Pakistan international paceman Hassan Ali on a deal for the 2024 season.
The 29-year-old, who has so far played in six of Pakistan's eight matches at the current Cricket World Cup, is the Bears' second winter signing and also, like George Garton, a fast bowler.
"Hassan was keen to return," said Bears first-team coach Mark Robinson.
"He fitted in well last year. He wanted to be part of another push for trophies with the Bears."
He is scheduled to play in all Warwickshire's County Championship and T20 Blast matches until the end of July, with an option to return in September.
Hassan, who first came to English county cricket to join Lancashire in 2022, took 24 wickets in six in Championship games in 2023 - and a further nine in the T20 Blast.
"He's a quality performer," said Robinson. "A proven wicket-taker, who pulled off some decent cameo roles with the bat as well."
Hassan said: "I feel I'm playing in my second home. I'm very comfortable in the dressing room.
"I didn't feel like I was playing in another country or another franchise. I can't wait to come back. "
Warwickshire, who were without the injured Liam Norwell for all of last season and Craig Miles for a large part of it, as well as England all-rounder Chris Woakes, are having a winter overhaul of their pace department.
They lost three fast bowlers at the end of the 2023 season, with Ethan Brookes moving to Worcestershire and George Garrett to Kent, while Manraj Johal was released.
While the Bears players report back for winter training next week, Hassan is expected to join up with the squad for pre-season training in late March, following the Pakistan Super League, just in time for the 2024 County Championship season.
DERBYSHIRE
Derbyshire have re-signed Hampshire all-rounder Ross Whiteley on a two-year deal, a decade after he left the club.
The 35-year-old came through Derbyshire's academy and played a key part in their County Championship Division Two title win in 2012.
He went on to play for Worcestershire and Hampshire, winning T20 Blast titles with both sides.
"I'm excited to have the opportunity to come back at this stage in my career," Whiteley told the club website.
"Having played a part in the last trophy Derbyshire won, I know how much it means to the fans here, so hopefully with the experience I've gained over the years I can help play a part in pushing for more silverware over the next few years for this great club."
Since first emerging at Derbyshire in 2008, Whiteley has scored 8,500 runs and claimed 62 wickets across all formats.
Mickey Arthur, Derbyshire's head of cricket, said Whiteley brings with him a "winning mentality" - something the county has focused on with the addition of Mohammad Amir, Pat Brown, David Lloyd, Samit Patel and Aneurin Donald ahead of the 2024 campaign.
"He's a player who is used to competing for trophies, he knows what it takes to compete in Division Two and to win white-ball honours," Arthur said.
"Ross is the kind of player you want in those pressure moments, he's capable of holding his nerve and changing the game, he will give us another bowling option and will bring us a lot in terms of fielding."
LEICESTERSHIRE
Leicestershire's One-Day Cup winning hero Harry Swindells has signed a new two-year deal with the county.
The 24-year-old wicketkeeper had previously said he was job hunting minutes before he got an unexpected call-up for September's final.
He went on to score an unbeaten 117 to as the Foxes recovered from 19-4 to beat Hampshire off the final delivery.
"I feel confident as a player and I'm ready to kick on now," Swindells told the club website.
"The [One-Day Cup] final definitely ranks as the top achievement of my career. To win a competition with your hometown club was incredible and hopefully we can earn more success in 2024."
Swindells was out of contract at the end of the 2023 season and before the final he had failed to make an appearance in the 50-over tournament.
While he featured in the T20 Blast for the Foxes, he had largely been limited to playing in the County Championship side's second XI.
Leicestershire director of cricket Claude Henderson hopes to see Swindells go on to deliver more of what he did in his special One-Day Cup performance.
"He has shown real fight and character throughout his career so far, perfectly exemplified by his performance in the final at Trent Bridge," Henderson said.
"We look forward to following his progress and seeing him replicate that kind of performance over the next couple of seasons."
Was impressed with this lad surprised he has struggled to get a game

28 members have sent a resolution for the next AGM asking for Lancs to play cricket at Aigburth once again. Liverpool CC are open for this to happen so it will be interesting to see Gidney and Co's response. Update - From what I have been told there has been progress made between Lancashire and Liverpool, they are due to meet up in the forthcoming day's. I've also added a piece which gives Liverpool's point of view regarding the absence of Lancashire games at Aigburth - A very interesting read!

Wonder if Gidney will sue for libel or be proud that he is only after the money, employs a lackey, renegades on deals etc.

From what I can gather Chris, it was made public.

From what I can gather Chris, it was made public. It certainly doesn't portray him in a good light. He seems to have the choice of trying to rise above it, or denial when if the matter is raised formally at the AGM assuming there is any debate. It would be easier for Lancs to simply agree to play at Liverpool, even at a cost as it may save several faces.

4 lancs players in a squad of 15 for the forthcoming ODIs in West Indies. 3 in a squad of 16 for the T20 segment. Usual suspects.

Warwickshire
Warwickshire captain Will Rhodes has stepped down as Bears skipper after four seasons in the role.
The 28-year-old Yorkshireman wants to concentrate on his game after seeing his haul of County Championship runs drop for a second season running.
Rhodes has been at Edgbaston for six years, since arriving from his native Yorkshire in 2018.
He look over the captaincy for the Covid-hit 2020 season, following the retirement of Jeetan Patel.
"Coming to the club as a 22-year-old I never thought I'd get such an opportunity to captain a great club like Warwickshire," said Rhodes. "It's been an unbelievable honour.
"I was hugely grateful for the opportunity when Jim Troughton and Paul Farbrace asked me to do it. And with the support of Mark Robinson [first-team coach] and Gavin Larsen [performance director], I'd like to think I've made a positive contribution.
"I'm looking forward to next season, helping whoever will be the new captain, and hopefully giving them a bit of advice from the experience I've gained over the years. And most importantly, collectively pulling together to win as many games as possible."
Rhodes, one of only seven Warwickshire captains to lift the County Championship, has so far made 5,982 runs for the Bears in 148 games across all formats, as well as taking 107 wickets with his brisk medium pacers.
He still has a season left on the two-year Bears contract he signed in January.
The Bears finished fourth in the Championship in 2023 and top of their group in both the T20 Blast and One-Day Cup, but then got eliminated at the knockout stage in both.
Robinson added: "Rhodesy obviously isn't retiring and will hopefully transition seamlessly into the ranks and continue helping us in our quest for success. But for now we thank him for all he has achieved with us as a leader.
"He'll always be remembered as one of few players who've captained a side at Edgbaston to the County Championship."

WarwickshireWarwickshire captain Will Rhodes has stepped down as Bears skipper after four seasons in the role. Will be interesting to see who succeeds Rhodes. Might expect it to be Sam Hain but I wonder if he will want the additional responsibility. Hain should have been in the ODI squad for the WI tour, very accomplished batter. If not Hain then no-one obvious. Burgess perhaps, maybe one of the veteran bowlers.

SUSSEX
Sussex have announced the signings of seam duo Nathan McAndrew and Jayden Seales as overseas bowlers for the 2024 season.
McAndrew, 30, returns to Hove for a second year having taken 31 first-class wickets last season.
Trinidad and Tobago-born Seales, 22, had been signed for 2023 but was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury.
"I can't wait to test myself in England and hopefully contribute to a winning start for Sussex," Seales said.
Seales, who made his Test debut for the West Indies at 19, will be available for Sussex from the start of the season until 8 June allowing him to compete in the County Championship and T20 Blast before his departure.
The right-arm seamer has taken 37 wickets in 10 Tests and became the youngest West Indies bowler to claim a five-wicket haul when he took 5-55 against Pakistan in 2021.
"As a young fast-bowler, I want to expose myself to as many different conditions and challenges as possible," Seales told the Sussex website.
McAndrew, who also averaged 26.5 with the bat for the Hove-based county, will be available from 1 June until the end of July.
"I am absolutely pumped to be back at Sussex for the upcoming season," McAndrew said in the joint announcement.
"I loved my time in Hove last year and I can't wait to get back out there with the lads in 2024.
"The fans were incredibly good to me last year and I'm looking forward to hopefully contributing to a few more wins this upcoming season."
GLOUCESTERSHIRE
Gloucestershire have handed a one-year extension to seamer Zaman Akhter.
The right arm fast bowler signed his first professional contract in March ahead of the 2023 season.
Zaman made his debut against Durham in the County Championship in May and went on to claim 19 first-class wickets.
"Zaman was an important player for us last season and gave us a much-needed extra pace option across all formats," Head Coach at Gloucestershire Cricket, Dale Benkenstein, said.
The 24-year-old joined Gloucestershire after he was spotted by a scout while playing for the South Asian Cricket Academy (SACA).
"It's been great to see Zaman develop as the season progressed and I've no doubt in his ability to continue to improve as we move into the 2024 season and beyond," Benkenstein told the club website.
In September, the seamer claimed his best bowling in an innings as he returned 4/33 at Leicestershire.
He also recorded his top score of 41* in that match.
"I'm really excited to sign an extension with the club," Zaman told the club website.
"My first year gave me a proper taste of professional cricket and I loved every minute.
"I've got some things I want to work on over the winter for next season which will hopefully help to bring about success for the team on the field."
DERBYSHIRE
Long-serving batter Wayne Madsen has signed a new two-year contract with Derbyshire that will extend his time at the county to 16 full seasons.
The South Africa-born 39-year-old joined Derbyshire in August 2009 and is second on their all-time list of run-scorers, with 20,930 in all formats.
Madsen was the top scorer in the County Championship in 2022 and hit more than 500 runs in the T20 Blast last season.
His new contract will take him through until the end of the 2025 campaign.
"Derbyshire is home to my family and we love living here. My entire county career has been here and I've made so many great memories," Madsen said.
"The whole club is moving in the right direction and that's something I'm looking forward to being a part of."
Madsen, who has played four T20 internationals for Italy, captained Derbyshire to the second division title in 2012 and his run of five scores of 50 in row in the Blast last summer equalled a world record in the format.
"Wayne remains one of the finest players in the county game," Derbyshire head of cricket Mickey Arthur said.
"It's exciting for us that he has extended his time with Derbyshire. It's testament to his work ethic, fitness and ability that he is still producing match-winning performances across all formats on a regular basis at this stage in his career."

ESSEX
Essex opener Nick Browne has agreed a new contract for the 2024 season.
The deal means the club do not have a find a totally new County Championship opening pair following the retirement of Sir Alastair Cook.
Left-hander Browne, 32, has scored more than 7,500 first-class runs since his debut in 2013, including 19 centuries.
"It's fantastic to stay here at Chelmsford, a place that has given me a wonderful career and some amazing memories," he told the club website.
"I was born locally, and it means a huge amount to me to be able to represent the region where I grew up and developed both personally and professionally."
Browne did not have his best summer in 2023, hitting 543 Championship runs in 14 games at an average of 24.68 as they finished runners-up to champions Surrey, and also played one match in the One-Day Cup.
"I'm really pleased we've managed to keep Nick at Essex for at least another year," said head coach Anthony McGrath.
"We've been keen to secure the futures of our most promising young players, but a key ingredient of a winning team is getting the blend of youth and experience just right."
DURHAM
Durham spinners Nathan Sowter and George Drissell have signed new contracts.
Australian Sowter, 31, has signed a new two-year deal, while Drissell, 24, has extended his stay with the club until the end of the 2024 season.
Former Middlesex leg-spinner Sowter spent time on loan at Chester-le-Street in 2022 before signing a one-year deal last December.
He took a club-record 24 wickets in last season's T20 Blast.
Off-spinner Drissell joined Durham from Somerset in 2021.
"I am excited to extend my deal with Durham, I have loved every minute of my time with the club so far," Sowter told the club website.
"With ambitions to keep improving in all formats across the club, it was a no brainer to commit for another two years. I can't wait to be a part of the club as we continue to progress."
