Who do we pick to start our T20 campaign against Durham. My guess is:
Jennings, Wells, Bruce, Bohannon/ Bell, Lavelle, Green, Balderson, Hurst, Aspinwall, Wood, Stanley.
Maybe Mahmood could play, possibly Morley. I suspect our batting is going to struggle.

Bell doesnt hit the ball hard enough for T20. TBH our batting looks rather underpowered anyway. Not surprising with our best hitters who rarely turn out for us anyway are all away at the WC.
Croft should play for his ability to hit 6s.

Can't see the season improving with that squad. We have to rely on Leicester Derbyshire and Northamptonshire being as bad as ever and Worcestershire or Durham having a bad year.

Why doesn’t Balderson even get considered for the T20? This is his 5th season and he’s yet make his debut.

Was thinking of going to New Road on Saturday but the Lancs and Worcs websites are giving different start times: Lancs says 18.30 and Worcs says 17.30 (my money is on the latter). It'll almost certainly be a tricky pitch that suits accurate medium pacers: New Road has had such dreadful flooding this winter and spring that Worcs are seriously thinking of abandoning one of the loveliest of cricket grounds. Last year Lancs couldn't cope at all with the Worcs pitch and lost easily. Probably be the same again.

That is strange, it may not be his game, but there are plenty of others that have been thrown in when it isn't their game. Would think he is the only one of the staff who hasn't played in it at all.

Whoops...so it is. Thanks, John. Oh well, saves me from watching us lose...

Why doesn’t Balderson even get considered for the T20? This is his 5th season and he’s yet make his debut. There is a case for resting him. Balderson has bowled plenty of overs in the championship. I did hear a pre-season interview with him, where he was talking about how he had worked on his white ball skills during the winter. I have been wondering whether this was why he has been less consistent with the bat in the championship this season.
I often wonder what the priority is for young players breaking into the first team, when the financial rewards are skewed towards T20/ franchise cricket.
