There does seem to be more teenage batting talent in the club than bowling around at the moment. That said not sure where Tom Aspinwall stands at the moment.

Singh/Shetty both just turned 18 and making consistent runs(all be it Shetty batting 7/8), bowling seems harder this year with the pitches being as flat as they are. Hopefully the new names Vause and Birkman can improve with the step up from age group cricket. Aspinwall not played for Kendal so assume injured.

Begs these questions: 1. Why this fascination with American terminology? What does it mean? 2. Seriously does anyone actually know what signing a rookie contract mid season means? a) a contract for the rest of the summer? b) as above also for 2023, maybe even 2024? c) it's an early announcement of a contract for 2023 (maybe also 2024) not really for 2022. 3. Why not sign him for the whole of 2022 after his exploits in the under19 world cup - hasn't done much since, were there fitness concerns?

Agree, it's pretty nonsensical. Suspect it's tautological and they're saying he's signed his first first contract.
More to the point, if the lad has got these kind of skills he should really be playing tonight in the absence of Ric Gleeson:
"18-year-old Boyden impressed with his ability to swing the white ball early on and would also regularly return at the end of an innings to showcase an impressive range of death bowling variations."

A televised QF in the T20 is not the same for the Lancs heirarchy as an uncontracted Taylor Cornall playing a couple of RL50s last year.
Wonder if Essex’s analysis team have much on him, especially if Lancs deliberately don’t announce a squad just a team at 6pm tonight?

I do think there's real value to doing the unexpected in T20. It's evident that there's so much planning and analysis these days that the unexpected has a lot going for it.
I was at the Oval the other night for Surrey's QF against the Yorkies. Yorkshire managed to slip through an over of Adam Lyth. It still went for 8 or 9 but in the match context it was a good over.
I'm still not entirely sure how Surrey conspired to lose that game.

Until they didn’t.

good to see Blatherwick and Aspinwall selected again.
4 Lancashire players selected for the North in the ECB super fours regional under 17s match today: Cian Dickinson Arav Shetty Charlie Barnard Kesh Fonseka (who I’m fairly sure will still be under 17 next year)
