Suppose they don't want to tell northants anything. They must have known last night because Lavelle was playing for the seconds at Billericay, would have been a rush this morning! Scott Read said Vilas had a problem yesterday went for a scan on a finger or hand injury of some description and he can’t keep today (at least). He added Lavelle must have come down to Northampton (unaware that he was in Billericay yesterday).
Interesting to note Lavelle not Bell travelled up from Essex.

Not surprised Lavelle is preferred to Bell. At Lancs young players must know their place and await their turn.

Wasn't Chris that said this - it was me but the system seems to be mucking about...

You could well be right in this particular case and I may be overreacting to the club's failure to give Bell another go after his fine performance at Blackpool but the tendency at Lancs to regard anyone under 28 as a teenager runs very deep and goes back a long way.

Oh I agree with you. They were very quick to drop Balderson this week to make way for Sundar

Didn’t realise Curtly Ambrose was back playing for Northants.
That’s the only possible explanation.

It's a used pitch and there's quite a lot of movement for fast bowlers like White and Wood but not a lot for medium pacers like Sanderson and Bailey. Apart from not playing well against the moving ball (a longstanding problem) Lancs look hung over from Saturday. I imagine knowing that they threw it away is eating at the batters. Bohannon was sawn off but so, I think, was Rickelton yesterday. Balderson would have done well on this pitch and should have played instead of Jones.
Brainless shots by Wood and Bailey and, with Surrey struggling against Essex and Hants being frustrated by the weather, we are throwing away a golden opportunity to make some ground.
132 a/o. Unless Northants collapse in the second innings, that's our Championship over for another season.

I don’t know that much about Bell. But, I was thinking back to the discussion on here when Bell played that T20 game as Vilas was upended and Salt absent. Everyone seemed to be saying he should automatcially be playing. It simply isn’t the Lancs way. Seniority always comes first. Lavelle has been on the squad longer than Bell, and had he not been injured I’m sure he would have played that T20 game. He played all the RL games last year. Lavelle is arguably the best ‘keeper in the club.

Looks like Surrey have turned the tables on Essex: massive 10th wicket stand and a 48 run lead. Alastair Cook already out for Essex. Meanwhile we have this farcical situation with bad light.

Parkinson is Lancs's leading wicket taker in 1st class cricket this season. Up to and including the current match, he has taken 25 wickets with an economy record of 2.50 per over. In the T20 he has taken 13 wickets in 12 matches and is top of the Lancs economy ratings. I don't see how this equates to your comment that he has been "poor all season." love pulling people up you dont you . in his last 2 county games he took 1for 83 v essex harmer got a 5 four . in his next game v warwicks he had 1for 50 and 0 for 71 .which makes av of 2 for 204 . Thats were i get it from smart arse , Hes been poor by his standards . 0 for 38 off 5 overs in the 1st innings v northants as well . you keep looking at your stats ill look with my own eyes . xxx
